Fantastic hotel
Pros:

The room was pretty minimalist but it had everything I needed, including a great shower room. Spotlessly clean, it also had a comfortable bed.

However, the thing I really liked was the lounge/reception, which has a good selection of comfortable chairs and sofas.

I'm a wheelchair user and although it wasn't an accessible room with wet room, they had designed all the rooms to be pretty accessible for most people and it met all of my needs.

I seem to remember that the breakfast was complementary and it was fast superior to the complementary breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express. Good choice and plenty on offer.

The best thing, without question though, was the staff. Super nice, couldn't help enough. I think they made it really and they are a credit to the hotel.

Cons:

I think I booked this hotel because it was affordable, rather than because of the location. It's in a light industrial area in a suburb, somewhere in the general direction of the airport. It's mainly surrounded by office-type buildings but there isn't much else in the immediate vicinity. It's ideal if you have a car as there is plenty of parking and has good road connections. It's also convenient for Iceland's biggest shopping centre, which is about 10 mins away on foot. However, it isn't convenient for the town centre unless you have a car, or can still afford taxis after paying Reykjavik hotel prices.

That said, it is well connected by bus. If you go down the hill to the main road, you can get a bus directly into the city centre. There weren't many foreign visitors using it and it took a good long while, but I really enjoyed travelling with the locals and seeing the 'real' Reykjavik. It was actually one of the highlights of my time in Reykjavik in the end. When I first arrived, I regretted choosing a hotel so far out. By the time I left, I was very grateful that I had.
