Elefant hotel

Decepcionante. Llegamos a las 2.30am a la supuesta dirección. Un edificio en esquina. Ningun letrero de hotel. Una puerta vieja en el 147 de Nevsky Prospekt. La dirección ni los números telefónicos correspondian. Tuvimos que dormir la primera noche en el hotel Antares muy cerca, con la ayuda de un hombre ruso que nos ayudó ( en ruso) a encontrar donde pasar la noche. Al día siguiente mi esposo finalmente encontró el hotel Elefant preguntando a varias personas. Quedaba en la calle de al lado y sin numero y otro numero telefónico. Pésima entrada pisos rotos. Paredes viejas. Oscuridad. Desayuno malo. Ropa de cama pequeña y gastada. Cojines decorativos sucios. Mal olor en la habitación. Nada de ayuda en recepción. No hablaban ingles. Ducha agua hirviendo pasa a fria instantaneamente. Pasadizos oscuros por la noche. El hotel Antares mismo precio mas agradable con desayuno impecable y sí queda en la Av. Nevsky.
NO reserven este hotel.

Бронировали через hotels.com. Приехали после 21.00, и с порога нам заявили, что брони никакой нет и с этим сайтом отель элефант вообще не работает! Вот так сюрприз! Особенно в такое позднее время! После долгих разбирательств, в конце концов заселили. Оплачивали номер с завтраком, завтрак просто смехотворный! Как в детском саду, кашка на воде, две печеньки и чай ))) Отель в центре города, как то не серьёзно ))

Fabbricato un po' datato, e l'hotel è abbastanza casereccio (colazione in cucina), ma la stanza è in ordine e pulita

Why are you a day out??? I stayed 8th day and night and out on 9th July. Same as your mistake for the return on 20th day and night and out on the 21st July.

Please put it right.

No one said that the window was open and I heard noises outside during the night.

Everything was there.

Breakfast was fun. muesli well, very sparse with yoghurt. Plain better. I chose cheesecake, yum and then veges well, no way should they spread mayonaise all over it to make it soggy. Difficult to eat, or not eat. I prefer my colslaw crunchy. Unusual for Westerners to have veges like coleslaw for breakfast.
Get your own coffee or tea. No juice.

Good about going out to end your stay the following day.

No map. But found that I was in a central place. The cruise took us to Moscow Restaurant later. Help yourself to food. Nice.

And the bus 24 takes you to the Hermitage but I did that area with the cruise folk.

Expensive for what it is but I was told St Petersburg is expensive. Blonde girl shouldnt be in the job. Doesnt do the place favours at all. Nonwelcoming, rude.

I enjoyed the young guys.

There should be a voice monitor in the corridor for messages like the Fire Alarm which happened on the second stay.

No taxi arrived for me at the sirport when I arrived in St Petersburg for the first time. I asked for one at 14.00 or 2pm. Apparently it came at 12.30pm! The plane did not arrive until 12.55pm, then customs, then toilet then change money.
Be careful of taxi scammers. 1,000r

First: It was 20th night and out on 21st July!!!!!

I liked the young guy who was helpful and friendly and got me a 900 rubles taxi to the airport. I paid the driver 1,000 rubles. He did well but no english. It was Sunday! the beginning of ths stay was by the young blonde girl. Unfriendly, left me outside and did not answer the bell!!! I had to wait until someone went out the very outside security door. Then I found the other door unlocked. At 11.30pm the fire alarm went off. I headed for the exit and informed others to follow. No internal voice which should happen. Outside in my nightie and jacket and socks I waited with others ..... 10 minutes later it stopped. 1 guy went to find out. Supposively false alarm. I questioned the 'blonde' girl later. No assurance from her at all. That is crazy. She said that she had turned off the alarm herself! She talked lots of russian to others. I arrived with 2 hand bags, a back pack small and the trolley bag. Did she help me.... NO. SHE DID NOT GREET, SHE WAS NOT FRIENDLY. Prior at the other date 8th-9th, she quoted me a taxi to the boat 250rubles. Then it was changed to 360rubles. No way did the driver help with luggage closer to the boat.
No receipt given either.
My 8th - 9th July brought NO TAXI ORDERED FOR 2PM (14.00). I was scammed by a driver charging 9,979rubles from a/port. The other guy assisted and this unlicensed dirver paid off $1,250 which I would have paid the other. $1,000 enough. SHOULDN'T HAPPEN!
