Our visit to the Orkneys on our adventure through Scotland wasn't planned, but with a last minute booking we were lucky enough to be able to spend a couple nights at the wonderful Orkney Hotel! This historic inn far exceeded our expectations. We particularly loved spending the evenings in the bar tasting some of the literal thousands of bottles of whiskey decorating the walls. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the Scottish breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend a stay at the Orkney Hotel on your next visit!

Great location, nice clean hotel . Breakfast was good but not a lot on the plate.

Cons:

There was a problem with cold water pressure in my room, couldn’t fill the kettle and near got scolded in shower.

Fantastic location, excellent breakfast and a great bar with an amazing whisky selection.

Room wasn't clean, crisps on floor, used contact lens on bedside table, not enough coffee or tea. Threw out soap after first day, which is a waste

Pros:

The bed was lovely and the breakfast was good, the man who served us breakfast was very good.

Cons:

The shower in room 221 was not very good the power was rubbish and the control was not very easy to get the right setting.

Some good but room for improvement.
Pros:

Comfortable spacious room and good evening menu.
Central location and car parking facilities good.
Staff friendly but could do with more training.

Cons:

I pre-booked evening meal times but was not in formed that there was no food on Sunday evening.
The room service was incomplete...dirty cups left in sink and tea/coffee not replenished one day.
Bacon and tomato at breakfast not cooked properly any day.
