What an amazing place to stay and chill. The views from mango room veranders, the infinitey pools, and the restaurant are all breath taking. The sounds of the forest is epic, saw parrots too. The beds are so comfy, the food the people - everything was brilliant. We also enjoyed our stroll with the gardener, we learnt so much about trees and fruit. We loved it all. We hope to stay here again.
This is a great hotel but the best part is the staff. They were all so friendly and always willing to help and address every one of our needs or concerns. The hotel is well laid out for privacy and has a host of amenities such as a shared pool and our favourite, fruit trees that you are free to pick from. My friends and I all enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.
phenomenal hotel, with some of the most beautiful views i’ve ever encountered! i will be telling everyone abt my stay here, the food was amazing and the hospitality and ambiance was great!
Quiet cozy in the countryside with a great view
It’s such a beautiful location and wonderful views it’s tranquil tucked away in the hills. I don’t doubt the other reviews but for us the customer service wasn’t quite there. It seems they had over committed to prioritising a bigger group.
We had booked in advance but were not notified until we arrived in the resort of a children’s graduation party. It was an event for about 50 children who when not eating were left to run feral running around by the lounger and running up to our bungalow window waving. We were advised it was a small event but went on for all of the afternoon.
The meal was pre arranged and set but nowhere were there prices. It was also a little confusing as prices were $ but sometimes ECD and sometimes US think they use this to their advantage. We met another couple who had a similar discussion in their check out so this wasn’t something that just spotted by us.
A shame
As per the other review the mosquitoes are immense good netting in ave but need something by the pool that put us off swimming and bathing much
I had a wonderful and relaxing vacation at Mt Edgecombe Boutique Hotel this month. The manager Ms Karlene, and her staff Shekira,Roselyn, and everyone working there made sure they took care of me as if I was at their house. My daily trip was arranged and I had a wonderful driver Aldon. He made sure I saw Grenada with a lot of pride.
Thank you everyone for all your tender loving care.
Firstly I’d like to highlight the excellent customer service at this hotel. As a gay couple coming to Grenada we knew we would need to be careful/respectful of local culture. At no time did we feel unsafe or unwelcome which put us at ease straight away. The staff really can’t do enough for u and although I don’t have any names I’d say this was across the board without exception. Although only 2 other guests while we were there off season there was always staff around ready to help.
The second thing is the stunning scenery surrounding the hotel which was literally spectacular with the noise of the rain forest all around and coming alive at night, a once in a lifetime experience to live amongst this for a few days. Beautiful little lizards, birds and other creatures all around. The hotel itself has a nice restaurant and although they give u a menu with prices it is included with TUI that we travelled with for breakfast always cooked fresh. The cocktails were plentiful and not stingy on measures!
The room itself was rustic. As described in other reviews the bed was always clean and comfortable with a large rnsuite bathroom and a lovely big veranda complete with hammock.
The downsides, which were minor but I think u need to be prepared for. The bugs, particularly the mosquitos are next level! We had bug spray but we’re still eaten alive and had some nasty bites. This is nothing the hotel can control it’s just the environment so expect that when u go. The location, as spectacular as it is it’s very remote. Again we knew that going in and had hired a car, but the roads are very narrow, winding, steep and pot holed making the experience of driving quite hair raising to say the least, again nothing within the control of the hotel and I know they do support local tour guides and will happily arrange trips for u if u prefer not to drive.
All in all a once in a lifetime stay for us and we’d like to say a massive thank you to all the Edgecombe staff.
Very clean , friendly ppl .
My wife and I came over from the UK for a 12 day north and south trip for our combined wedding anniversary and my 50th birthday.
We stayed for our first 3 nights at this hotel in order to acclimatise and recharge ourselves after the flight. Despite a later evening arrival, we were greeted and fed. It was much needed.
We came over at the end of their summer season in mid May so were probably one of a few couples there.
This hotel is based on an old cocoa plantation estate and boasts a small team of around 14 staff, all of whom go out of their way to make your stay really special.
It is quite remote and the perfect place to come and relax is total tranquility. The balcony views and two small infinity pools offer a real chance to recharge your batteries.
There is parking available near the grounds a short walk from reception so ideal as a base for any guests wanting to drive and explore.
The food on site was naturally traditional grenadian cuisine and first class. Cooked all on site by their team of chefs with most ingredients sourced from the actual estate itself. Fruit eggs etc.
We had a wonderful suite which was cleaned everyday by Rosalyn as and when we needed her. No rush. Everything was done on Grenadian time.
Thanks to the bar staff especially Shaquira and Siobhan for their evening care and service.
I would recommend two things for travellers wanting to stay. Firstly, bring some insect repellant spray for the night times as the mosquitoes are around, and secondly, ear plugs are handy (for light sleepers) to drown out the crickets outside at night.
My wife and I always come prepared as any traveller should do to warm climates. We had the best sleep here and the bed was so comfy with mosquito nets in place and air con and fans in the room.
I cannot rate this hotel highly enough and we will definitely be returning again in the future.
You can't improve on perfection and this is a hidden gem.
I had a wonderful stay at Mount Edgecomb. It is like a secret garden. But if you are expecting a sterile American hotel resort experience go somewhere else. This is a perfect place for those looking to relax and have modern comforts while surrounded by beautiful Grenada nature.
Staff is amazing and very helpful
This place is truly something special, we took ourselves on a journet aroynd tge Island and this was one of our best stops on the jouurney. Fantastically friendly and helpful staff too
Good but not great restaurant limits overall appeal. No printed menu, limited choices, out of stock of some items. Food is of decent quality and quite reasonably priced. Could use a more creative, flavorful approach.
Grounds are beautiful, rooms are great. Staff is AMAZING, friendly and helpful.
The Edgecomb is lovely if you just want to stay at the hotel and relax as it's very secluded with amazing views.i would say more suited to couples rather than adult children who would rather go on excursions than just sit around the hotel.
The hotel was so very comfortable and the staff super helpful and friendly. It was so relaxing, loved the pools and both breakfast and dinner options were delicious! Best shrimp I’ve had on the island! We loved our room, it was cool and spacious with a fabulous view. Felt very lucky to spend time there.
The views are lovely as are the Staff without exception
Lovely place to stay a mile from Victoria. The staff are amazing and the views and sunsets are glorious.
Beautiful setting, nice comfortable rooms. The restaurant view is spectacular, and the food was excellent. The staff was very friendly.
We spent five nights here during the first part of our Grenadian vacation.
The hotel is located about an hour from St. George’s - so we wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re not willing to rent a car. It did take us a while to get to certain attractions from this hotel, so I’m glad we split it up into two parts (staying five nights here and two nights in St. George’s). I was a weenie once I saw the traffic but luckily my husband is a fantastic driver and quickly got used to driving on the left on roads that sometimes reminder us of a Mario Kart course. There was one afternoon when we did not want to drive into the city as we knew we would be drinking and Carlene (the hotel manager) was kind enough to arrange a taxi for us.
This was a great jumping off point for touring the northern part of the island. We checked out Leapers Hill and River Antoine Rum Distillery. The rum distillery was one of the highlights of our trip and it was very cool to watch an 18th century river-powered water wheel crush sugarcane.
The hotel itself is like taking a trip back in time. It is absolutely beautifully landscaped and the grounds are lush and green. Every morning you wake up to the sound of birds chirping in the trees. We stayed in Nutmeg One which has a gorgeous balcony looking out over the ocean across the trees. The room is somewhat rustic - wood shutters, clawfoot tub, unfinished wood floors, beautiful antique secretary desk - which was nice. The king bed was comfortable and the room was clean. It had air conditioning which we appreciated on some of those hot days!
Breakfast was included and was always cooked to perfection. We really liked the local egg and bean quesadilla! We also ate at the hotel restaurant every night we were there. We are both pescatarian and the chef did a nice job coming up with different options for us that we could eat (in addition to the nightly fish, we were also offered marinated tofu, creamy polenta, pasta, delicious veggies, the freshest salad, etc.) and the drinks were strong and reasonably priced.
Mount Edgecombe has two infinity pools adjacent to one another which look like something out of a movie. The pools were clean and cool. There were not a lot of people at the hotel when we were there, so we had the pool areas to ourselves when we wanted to swim.
Carlene and her staff are working hard to make sure this hotel provides the upmost in customer service.
What a lovely stay at the hotel we enjoyed it very much and the pool area was especially welcoming after a hot day exploring Grenada. The staff were welcoming and friendly and made our stay very comfortable. The location is just beautiful they had little trail you can walk behind the hotel and they had a family of tortoises that we can see everyday. Which was a nice surprise and our family liked it very much. The only thing I would say about this location is that there were not much options for food in the surrounding areas. But I guess we were there at the low season so maybe not many places were opened. But if you wanted to see a more quiet part of the island this is the perfect location to stay.
