Location and general areas are very attractive. Staff is very kind and helpful. Kitchen and rooms are on the basic side.
Very quiet are away from the tourist crowd, walking on the beach is relaxing. The breakfast was very good.

A little piece of paradise
This side of Zanzibar Island is quite a distance from any service, shopping or dining so everything has to be arranged through the hotel or a tour company. It is a small boutique hotel, which we liked and worked out ok for us, but we didn't really realize in advance that once you're there, you're kinda stuck. We enjoyed the food, salt-water pool, sit-upon kayaks (not sea kayaks) and walking on the beach but it was quite windy while we were there and the bicycles were old and rickety, but gave us a good workout. There were some poor descriptions about what each tour included, there is no laundry facility guests can use as the website said. They could send laundry out, but not very cheaply, and we were concerned how long it would take. The desk manager did work with us to clarify tour descriptions and coordinated transfers and tours to our satisfaction. He made adjustments to the tour descriptions and our final bill when we pointed out the discrepancies, so were grateful for that. Stone Town and Prison Island tours were not as impressive as expected, but I'm comparing to an extremely well-done tour in Ghana of the slave dungeons of the Cape Coast Castle, which was much more comprehensive and informative.
If you are prepared to just go relax on the beach or by the pool, it's a beautiful setting, but be warned the tide goes in and out nearly 3 times per day, so swimming in the ocean when the tide is out really isn't an option.
It is a gated security property.
The king bed was 2 beds together and you fell through in the middle a bit.
This is a well run hotel with basic facilities. The problem is the beach. It is full of rocks and sea urchins making it unusuable. No one was swimming in the sea. This should be made clear as not everyone wants to swim in the pool.
Nice place, great staff, good food beautiful beach. You could borrow kayaks and join yoga lessons for free. The beach has some seaweed due to the reef, thats the fact for the coast up to north of Kenya.
Excellent pool. Clean beach. Excellent menu buy if you have preferences and ingredients are available the restaurant would make a la carte meals.
Parfait!
My friend and I came here to relax, dive and celebrate my birthday. The entire stay made it an exceptional experience and the staff (Robert and Joel) were friendly, efficient and very welcoming. A compliment to the chef, as his lunch and dinner menus were excellent throughout the week. The receptionist Geriath (we hope that we spelled it correctly) was beyond what words can explain. Very kind, service minded and simply pleasant charisma. The owner of the hotel was delightful and very accommodating and thoughtful to our needs, especially on our departure day. We enjoyed the massage very much as they were good and friendly as well. The small hotel was charming and very stylish with African vibes and decor.
All in all, a wonderfull experience and place. Thank you all
.
Great stay, amazing staff, beautiful views! Can’t wait to go back!
EXCELLENT !
Desde as instalações, ao serviço, comida, tudo 5 estrelas. Nota especial à simpatia dos trabalhadores todos do hotel!
Neutre
Hotel beach chair area is beautiful..however the beach is impossible to swim in. The tide is to far out. Also great deal of seaweed and other plant like things flouting in the water does not make it appealing.
NO AC! I missed this part during booking and it ruing my stay, extremely hard to sleep in the heat at night with just a fan. Water in the shower and sink come out salty, very weird to brush teeth and shower.
No bottled water, they filter water into a glass jar and sell it to you for 2-3$.
Food was not bad, they have a nice lunch and dinner menu. Breakfast was the same everyday, standard eggs and toast.
This area of the island is extremely quiet, no life, youll be completely alone, if you like that, its fine, I have a better time up north in nungwi with the nightly hotel band shows and people watching.
Aside from that service is great, staff is friendly.
