Kirkjufell Hotel

Parking was easy and location was good. So many stairs to have to lug up and down heavy luggage. Staff were never seen except briefly at breakfast. Overall, it was okay. Views were good.

Easy walk to most places, plenty of parking behind.

Reception was unstaffed so keys just left on counter. No welcome at all. Room itself was comfortable but bathroom was a little tired. Ample off road parking and breakfast sufficient

Accommodation's were good here, everything worked fine. Easy to check in and easy to check out, keys waiting on us, didn’t really interact with staff at all. Only stayed a single night, but everything was fine.

What on earth it's rated a 3 star hotel! It would be a 0 star, worse than a motel.
No service, no microwave, no refrigerator and no breakfast.

Location was minutes away from Kirkjufellsfoss and near a gas station and grocery store. The check in was super easy, just grab your key in the reception. Only problem, there were no check in instructions. Good thing another guest was nice enough to inform us. The room was spacious but the hallway has a bit of a smell. No kitchen but breakfast is available for a fee. Good place to rest for the night. Nice backdoor view of the ocean.

Really enjoyed my stay here! Ery friendy and helpful staff! Decent-sized room. Breakfast too expensive so didn’t partake.

Nicw place

Thomas in the reseption was super helpfull. He takes care everything. We give 10+ for his service. Carry our bags, tells all places worth to visit etc. Our room was quiet as we hope. 101 room number. What I wonder there were heating in bathroom at all. So towels doesn't dry. And soon there will be problem with mole in the walls.

Room was very small. Almost dorm room like. Pillows were terrible and lumpy. Narrow stairs to walk up to get to rooms. Nice location though.

Too many stairs and they were dangerous when carrying baggage. Very impersonal.

We did enjoy dinner at a place in walking distance of the hotel and it was delicious. That was the only place that was open at the time. They didn't have a lift in the hotel, so we had to carry our luggage up a couple of sets of stairs which was kind of annoying, but we made it work. The room was spacious and worked out for what we needed. Breakfast wasn't an option for us since didn't pre-select it when we booked the room, so that was a bummer. No one wanted to make the exception to it and offer it. So we just figured something out the next morning. We did come on a day when it was raining and gloomy, so it might have been different if the weather was nicer.

Convenient parking. Limited food options. Seemed way overpriced but probably typical for rural Iceland.

The booking was not as requested. They had no breakfast included. We had to pay extra. Our room was not as requested. Our booking was for two beds. When asked for a new room with this accomodation the staff person became very flustered. The hotel lost power at breakfast. The staff was unaware and had to be summoned to fix. Food ran out at breakfast. Staff seemed bothered by replenishing.

This is what you would expect for a budget level hotel in the US. I'm not sure if there is such a thing in Iceland.
The hotel is clean and rooms are comfortable. Showers are very small pre-fab units. Breakfast is very basic. Don't expect more than some basic fruit, cereal, toast, boiled eggs etc. Management seemed to have staffing issues. Breakfast could be overrun easily with little staff to help. There was not a bar.

The hotel was comfortable, convenient and clean. It was in a great location to stay very near to kirkjufellfoss. Nice little town to walk around too.
