The rooms were good. Identifying the place first time was little difficult.
The hotel is in a fantastic location to explore Moscow. It's a comfortable space, but definitely lacking in 'finish.' Little things like the sounds of the pump going on every time you turned on a tap, flushed the toilet or brushed your teeth etc; to the sound of 'pumping' of water through the pipes on the wall etc. It was fine - we were comfortable enough - but it lacked a 'relaxing' vibe.
Like: Location close to Red Square and the Kremlin.
Dislike: This hotel is not good for foreigners. Everything is in Russian, There is not a single TV channel that may be seen in any other language.
The hotel has an incredible rule: DO NOT THROW TOILET PAPER INTO THE TOILET. This creates a serious sanitary problem, and for this, the hotel should be SHUT DOWN by the Moscow authorities..
Breakfast has very poor choices, and they usually do not bring you what you ordered. The rooms do not have the nice city views advertised. Most of the rooms are internal and with no views.
My room - Room 1 - had sliding bathroom doors that did not close and a toilet bizarrely plugged into power which would make a loud noise when any of the water was running, shower or sink. No room service as described - they direct you to an online delivery service which is not straightforward if you are not a Russian speaker. From Thursday to Saturday night extremely loud dance music was played somewhere very close by from about 21:00-1:00 so that the walls were practically shaking. At reception they were very flippant about this saying that you could expect this of any hotel in central Moscow - which is not true. My company placed a number of guests there based on the reviews and were frankly embarassed to have done so. Not sure where the Exceptional reviews are coming from. Avoid.
Location is fantastic walk anywhere fro. there. Alice was fantastic with her suggestions and always a smile. When in Moscow this is the place to stay !!
