Pros:

Pros:

Pros:

Mixed feelings
Pros:

Arrived early (7:00) and was kindly offered my room for an extra 650 rubles. Happy to pay that - however oin perusing my bill, I was charged more than what was agreed, Not much mind but it was more. I was offered breakfast for an extra 450 rub which I declined. Breakfast in this hotel is pretty sparse.
The hotel is quiet - very quiet. I hardly saw anyone else in the days I was here. Its a breakfast area surrounded by rooms. Coffee is available all day (depending on the machines good humour) and tasty biscuits are usually to be found. Hot milk, honey and cakes are put out at 10pm which is a nice touch.
The room itself is adequate ... however there are issues with the plumbing. On using shower or flushing the toilet - there is a deafening sound for the duration - and when that stops, there is a dreadful smell of sewerage for approx 5 minutes. Not nice.
I also query security at the hotel. Door to the hotel and door at the bottom of the stairs to the street are open at all times. The reception was only manned when I arrived and when I left (and on that point, I hadnt been registered properly which caused delay). There may be cctv, true. But I was able to stroll into the hotel at 10, 11pm and not encounter any staff member at all. - bit odd.
So, would I stay here again, though its clean, quiet and convenient - it has to be a no, sorry.

Small pearl in the city
Pros:

I spend tens nights in the hotel. It is very small, located on the second floor of apartment building not far from the heart of the city with good restaurants and underground (metro) station nearby . There was a very good buffet in the morning and free coffee, tea and massage armchair in the evening. Parking also free on the quit street.

Very nice!
Pros:

I was born in Nizhny Novgorod and never stayed in any hotels there :)
For the last 22 years I've been living with my family in USA. We travel a lot, so I can compare the hotels in the different countries.
Last December me and my husband went back to our home city to celebrate the 25th wedding anniversary, and after the event stayed at the "Vorobey".
I was pleasantly surprised: the hotel was very clean, rooms were comfortable, staff was very friendly and breakfast was great.
I should say that in some european hotels I didn't have such good service.
Very proud of my city!

Good Hotel !
Pros:

Very nice hotel and friendly service. Good breakfast. Clean.
Short walk to city-centre and restaurant streets.

Over the corner is also really good German-style restaurant, where you walk 3 minutes. ( Reception know the name )

Only disappointment with baby strollers was that no lift in building. But friendly host help us even carry our things :)

I will go there again !

Very nice hotel
Pros:

I came here with family and the staff has been very friendly and some speak some English. Very nice rooms and nice common area with snacks and drinks. Very close to the city walking street and train station. All very walkable.

The bottom line - Clean, friendly, good wifi, small & cozy, espresso, water and snacks in the lobby, walking distance to train and main attractions, not expensive so overall a good choice.

Not bad
Pros:

Small and cozy, with just 11 rooms and a common space right between them. Located on a 3rd floor of a regular building, good location, 5 minutes walking to the beginning of busiest Bolshaya Pokrovskaya streed that ends at the Kremlin.

Hotel staff is friendly. The only glitch: I was promped to pay a late checkout fee despite I wasn't informed late checkout will be charged when asked about its possibility. However I was exempted from the payment "for this time", likely a right receptionist's decision for the moment.

Great hotel
Pros:

The hotel reminds you of a very quiet B&B. it is newly built out and well maintained. It is close to site seeing and nice restaurants. We enjoyed the warm welcome, the delicious breakfast, afternoon tea, and a restful sleep. It is a walk up, but it is worth it.

Comfort
Pros:

This is possibly the best combination of location, service and affability in Nizhniy, with the exception of one individual girl on night duty who lets the place down everything else is great. This proves the rule that people make all the difference, you can place all conveniences to hand , yet one person can sour the milk, so whoever you were on the evening of the 20th of July, please get some other occupation before you become a problem.

Moving on, the hotel is tucked away, slightly pricey, no lift but gives a great feeling of privacy, good breakfasts (which frankly are difficult to find here) and comfy rooms, very quiet and fast service.

I would recommend the business suite and take time to enjoy your room, watch an old film (soviet style) and treat yourself to hot milk and honey. Just try it - no complications just chill.

small office turned hotel
Pros:

This is not a hotel. its the third floor (no elevator) of an office building transformed into a hospitality area. there is no lobby, its a central hall (dining tables) with some 12 rooms around it and a small reception, with the kitchen right behind it. complementary coffee and tea during the day, but no real food after breakfast.
my room's door was 2 meters across from the reception which means I heard all noises of everything that took place there (with some acoustic barrier), and as the sanitation is not built for living, every room has a noisy pump which pumps hot and cold water which was absolutely unregulatable and turned every shower into an annoying experience.
very clean, furniture new, staff extremely friendly. breakfast good. location is medium, not very close (walking) to the center, ok for business travel.

Good hotel but expected more for the price!
Pros:

It is a 2-minute walk from the main pedestrian street, a 10-15 minute walk to the Kremlin. The hotel occupies the second floor of the business center. If you do not know about it, will be difficult to find. There is no lift! Hotel room is standard as in any another 3 or 4 star hotel.
But the huge drawback of the hotel is sanitary engineering: every time you use the toilet or bath, it produces a very loud sound! It is also extremely difficult to take a shower - the water temperature is constantly changing.
A few words about the breakfast: breakfast quite poor. Do not expect much - standard for a budget 3-star hotel.
The best thing about the hotel is the staff. The girl at the front desk is always ready to help, which is not so common in Russian hotels.

Fresh, smart and cosy
Pros:

My favourite hotel in Nizhniy Novgorod - pretty small, very clean and convenient, well located in the center. The rooms are the key point - unusual, well designed and functional. Only issue - the hotel occupies just second floor of the building that has some other businesses inside - so it can be difficult to spot.

Nice small hotel - perfect for business
Pros:

The great thing in this hotel was the hospitality. Warm welcome at the reception, helpful staff and the fantastic idea of the evening complimentary hot milk with honey and bun.
Room was good, well furnitured, Internet was fast and free of charge. Location was convenient, 5 min walking distance from the city center. Breakfast was ok, and there was the complementary tea and coffee (good espresso) all day long. The only thing I'd probably complain (there is so few ideal places in the world) is the bad sound proofing. My room was next to the reception and I it was a bit a noisy. It was ok for the business trip, but probably I wouldn't choose this hotel for the romantic trip :)

Russian hospitality on a high level
Pros:

The hotel is located in the historical city center. The rooms are very clean and good furnitured. Very nice and polite staff offered even some coffee and sandwiches after we had arrived around 0:00. The staff provides on request with teeth brush, paste, etc. Warm breakfast buffet is very reach and tasty. There was also a possibility to have a tea or coffee at the lounge whenever we wanted. WLAN was available. City map was also available free of charge upon request.

Was really nice stay out there. Staff was very friendly, room was amazing. Studio room with huge bathtub inside with space for two inside. You can take bath, drink beer, watch TV and hug your spouse at the same time. Breakfast was of very good quality.
