The staff and the location are absolutely exceptional. We felt welcomed and cared for by Cristina, Aldamara, and all the staff at the Palazzo. Slept like babies in the quiet, cool, comfortable room (Bam’m). Hot showers, delicious breakfast, walkable to lower and upper town, and comfort food & drinks at the Crisalos Bistro above. We will recommend Palazzo degli Abati to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, exceptional location for visiting this unique city. We hope to return. Our best wishes to all the staff. 🤗🥰🐺

The ligh on the bathroom turns in automatically. Happens that the bathroom is inside the room with a glass door. When someone uses the bathroom in the middle of the night it enligthens all the room..

Un lugar mágico para alojarse y disfrutar de Matera
Pros:

Nuestra habitación era una cueva muy bien acondicionada y muy cómoda. El baño es espectacular. Las vistas y el desayuno muy muy bien.
La atención del personal, excelente
Muy recomendado para visitar Matera y dormir en una cueva.

Cons:

Si vas en coche tienes que aparcar en alguno de los parkings recomendados y llevar el equipaje. Para nosotros no supuso ningún problema. Está muy bien indicado en los vídeos de su web y que también te envian.
Hay que considerar que en Matera no sirve de nada el Google maps. Hay que seguir las indicaciones del propio hotel.

Best place to stay in Matera
Pros:

I think this is the best place you can stay when you visit Matera. The rooms are so clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location and view are perfect. The resturant attached also has a great breakfast and beautiful view for sunset.
