Hotel fantastico con vista mozzafiato, stanze grandi e colazione ottima. Skybar con cibo spaziale!
Pros:

Ottimo hotel con una vista mozzafiato sul mare!
Posizione perfetta a Kendwa, proprio sulla spiaggia.

Colazione a buffet ottima, con una varia scelta ogni mattina, sia dolce che salata. Le stanze sono grandi, pulitissime e molto comode.

Un punto in più per lo Skybar Resto-bar collegato all'hotel: cibo spaziale, fresco e gustosissimo, soprattutto pesce. Personale super gentile e disponibile.

Consigliatissimo se cercate relax, mare da cartolina e buon cibo. Ci tornerò sicuramente!

Disappointing stay on an active construction site

We booked this hotel at the last minute after our original hotel properly warned us about construction work and let us cancel. Unfortunately, the management at Sun Sea Bar Hotel lacked that same decency.

The hotel was completely unfinished and felt like an active building site rather than a relaxing holiday spot. There was constant drilling from the upstairs restaurant, and the entire reception area was being revamped during our stay. We had to walk through construction dirt and noise every single day just to get to the pool—but once we arrived there, there was no escape. The pool area was completely ruined by non-stop construction noise and workers shouting. At one point while we were sunbathing, a member of staff started painting all of the sunbeds with an extremely strong-smelling paint. We complained, and while he acknowledged how overpowering the smell was, he still carried on until he was finished.

To make matters worse, our room was dirty and unsafe—the ceiling fan was literally hanging off. We were actually told not to open the wardrobe door while the fan was on because it would hit it! It is completely clear that the manager refused to pause business during an overhaul, choosing to profit off guests rather than warn them. Avoid this place.

Just a few days in Zanzibar
Pros:

The hotel is directly on the beach so you can see the ocean from the bar and restaurant. The rooms are big and well furnished. The bathroom is ok with a big and comfortable shower. The breakfast is continental with many dishes and variety. The staff is kind and ready to help the guests whenever they need help. The manager Al Pacino helps me to solve a very problematic situation and I really appreciate.

Cons:

There was a strong smell of mold in the room, and face towels were missing from the bathroom.

My go to place everytime for zanzibar
Pros:

Rooms are so clean and the staff are just amazing each and every one of them we really felt like home and we were so sad to say goodbye. The restaurant without any exaggeration is the best we have tried in all zanzibar the seafood dishes are so delicious we’re gonna miss it alot.

Choose the room with pool and ocean view if you can afford it.
Pros:

When we planned our trip we were looking for accommodation at Kendwa Beach for 3 nights. This was the only hotel which is directly on the beach with reasonable price. Although its rating was not so good we booked 2 rooms as the best option. One of the rooms was really nice, on the ground floor, having own pool and terrace with sundecks viewing on the white sand beach and the ocean. It is a bit more expensive but it is definitely worth its price.
On one hand, the beach is really nice, even in low tide you can swim. There are star fish in different colours, and few types of colourful fish. On the other hand, there are many tourists and many local people trying to sell products/services.

Cons:

Our other room was on the top floor. It had small balcony with ocean view. We had several issues with this room. The safe did not work and the staff could not help us how to use it. We could not close the door between bathroom/toilet and the sleeping room. There was continuous noise from the bathroom as long as we had electricity. (To be fair, electricity issues are general on the whole island and we had no electricity only for very short times.) Sometimes we had no water for short times. Beds in this room were very hard. No cleaning in this room during our stay. Did these problems ruined our stay? Oh, no. Hakuna Matata.

Lo staff simpatico, cordiale, soprattutto il responsabile. Molto alla mano e ti viene in contro per ogni cosa

Cons:

Il bagno al mattino, dallo scarico della doccia, saliva un'odore sgradevole di fogna. La pulizia così così. Colazione sempre la stessa, poca scelta.

l’emplacement, est très bien, nous avons accès directement à la plage de Kendwa, nous sommes en revanche à l’extrémité de la plage du côté où il y a les bateaux, il faut marcher un tout petit peu pour pouvoir se baigner, le restaurant de l’hôtel est très bon, le personnel est au petit soins, le ménage est fait dans la chambre tous les jours. la piscine n’est pas très grande mais cela convient.

Niente. L'unica nota positiva è stata la decisione di abbandonare la struttura in anticipo per tutelare la nostra salute. soprattutto Quella della mia fidanzata incinta

Una TRUFFA !!
La struttura si presenta in condizioni igienico-sanitarie e manutentive del tutto inaccettabili, ben lontane da quanto pubblicizzato:
1. Gravi carenze igieniche e infestazioni: Presenza di parassiti e blatte nei servizi igienici delle camere, macchie di sporco pregresso sui pavimenti dei bagni e totale assenza di pulizia profonda.
2. Cibo insalubre ed esposto: La colazione al buffet viene servita completamente all'aperto, priva di coperture o protezioni, alla mercé di mosche, insetti e sbalzi termici, con grave rischio per la sicurezza alimentare.
3. Cantiere aperto e rumore: La struttura è un cantiere attivo a tutti gli effetti. Lavori edili pesanti (inclusa la molatura di pareti e metalli) eseguiti di notte con polvere, rumore assordante e totale assenza di privacy.
4. Struttura fatiscente e pericolosa: Soffitti con ampi squarci, travi a vista e infiltrazioni d'acqua. Impianto elettrico improvvisato e precario, con ciabatte e cavi montati direttamente sul legno a contatto con bottiglie d'acqua e superfici umide.
Abbiamo dovuto abbandonare il resort in anticipo per motivi di sicurezza e salute (con mia moglie in stato di gravidanza). L'amministrazione ha persino negato le evidenze di fronte a prove fotografiche schiaccianti.
5. La notte sentivo i topi camminare sul controsoffitto.
E il secondo giorno c’è stata una invasione di vespe

Lovely
Pros:

I really enjoyed my stay at Sunseabar Beach Resort 🤍
The location is honestly one of my favourite things about the place — right by the beach, beautiful views and such a positive atmosphere. I also really appreciated that the electricity was stable even if the power goes off they have a generator that works immediately which made everything so much more comfortable.
But what stood out the most was the staff. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly and genuinely nice, which made me feel very comfortable from the moment I arrived.
Overall, I had a really lovely experience and would definitely recommend Sunseabar.
