Pros:

breakfast choice was excellent, the room was a little small but more than adequate for my needs. Had dinner on two evenings, again the food was very good. I can strongly recomend this hotel, I plan to visit Orkney again and when I do I will be checking out this hotel first for availability.

Pros:

Its hard to say too much about the Ferry Inn given that we arrived at about 530 pm. and had to leave at 530am. to catch the ferry. The room was lovely and clean, and the little interaction we had with staff was great! I would recommend it. It was very conveniently located across from the ferry terminal.

Would definitely stay again, but I would give dinner a miss. Clean, comfortable and convenient
Pros:

The welcome from reception and helpfulness was second to none. Lovely en-suite room across the road from the Ferry Inn. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb and my only disappointment is that I couldn't finish it all!

Cons:

The toilet seat was very "sharp"! The main evening meal was unremarkable, the scallops were wonderful, fresh and perfectly cooked, but the burger and hake main meal left a lot to be desired.

Pros:

Hotel was on the quay and is a Pub with rooms. Room we had was a family room so more spacious. Dinner was good and well priced. Kirkwall is a small town so you are near everything from this location.

Überraschung
Pros:

Direkt am Fährhafen und deshalb gebucht. Sehr erstaunt, was sich hinter der Fassade dann aufgetan hat. Ein richtig gutes Restaurant, eine gute Bar und wirklich tolle Zimmer. Der Weg dorthin ist allerdings nichts für große Leute - Achtung Kopf einziehen. Das war uns einige Fotos und viel Lachen wert. Eben typisch Schottland.
Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Das Service zuvorkommend, aber nicht aufdringlich. Bier-Versorgung vorzüglich ;-)
Vorbuchen empfohlen - ist richtig voll dort. Klare Empfehlung für eine gemütliche Zeit.

Brilliant location in Stromness with a pub serving amazing food! We had a great night. All staff so friendly and accommodating.
