Good location opposite the ferry port

Cons:

Not able to get food on Sunday evening- we didn’t book as we’re not sure what we were doing - was not offered option for takeout to room or eat in the bar so had to go and get a Chinese takeout. Front door of harbour rooms could do with smarting up looks a bit tatty.

Pros:

Location in town, parking access and across from ferries. Ate at the restaurant/pub as part of hotel. Building is original but updated. Good wifi connection. Laundry facilities in ferry terminal building across the street but it needs a coin machine. Our room was upstairs in the eves with great ventilation. Drove to Kirkwall for shopping and restaurants but liked staying in Stromness away from cruise ships and tourist mobs.

Pros:

Beliggenheten og atmosfæren. Personalet var enestående hyggelig, og maten upåklagelig. Rommet var romslig og rent, men dårlig ventilasjon så vi endte med åpent vindu( dette ga kulde og støy). Det var upraktisk.

Leider stimmt hier Preis - Leistung garnicht
Pros:

Die Lage ist wirklich gut. Direkt gegenüber vom Hafen und man ist sehr schnell mit dem Auto an den Steinkreisen und der Steilküste.

Cons:

Der Teppich war abgenutzt und nicht sauber. Es gab leider gar keine Hacken an denen man die nassen Handtücher trocknen konnte. Es gab auch keine Ablageflächen. Es gab keinen geschlossenen Hygieneeimer im Bad und leider auch keine WC Bürste. Ein Bettrückenteil war defekt und sah aus, als fällt es jeden Moment ab.

A good stay dented by an awkward dining experience.
Pros:

Convenient location near ferry terminal and the town. Comfortable hotel. Pleasant staff.

Cons:

One incidence of an evening meal, which was vastly overpriced for the small amount offered, rather spoiled the dining experience for all members of the group. The meal was returned but it spoilt the dining experience. An apology offered, but the guest chose not to eat there.

Homely place to explore Orkney from.
Pros:

Great location to explore Orkney from. Stromness is a lovely town. Ferry Inn felt like it was at the heart of the town with the bar and restaurant busy with locals and tourists.

Cons:

Restaurant is always busy so you have to book and there are no other options available in town

Pros:

Camera pulita e accogliente, anche se un po' piccola. Staff molto gentile. Ristorante annesso con buona cucina locale, servizio molto efficiente. Ottima posizione.

Cons:

La porta della camera era difficile da aprire perché occorreva una certa forza. La prima sera abbiamo dovuto chiedere aiuto alla reception perché non riuscivamo ad aprire.

Ottima posizione, personale gentilissimo e accogliente. Buona la colazione, prevale ovviamente quella salata ma c'è comunque molta scelta.
Abbiamo anche cenato e il ristorante è ottimo, un po' caro ma di qualità e curato

Cons:

La pulizia è decisamente insufficiente. Molta puzza di polvere. Le sovracoperte, i cuscini ornamentali e le tende credo non siano mai stati lavati ma nemmeno sbattuti. Sul vassoio della teiera c'erano un paio di capelli, moltissimi cassetti e un armadio ma non abbiamo potuto usarli perché puzzavano.
Non c'erano nemmeno un gancio per appendere le giacche o gli asciugamani in bagno.
In 3 notti che ci siamo fermati non sono mai passati a pulire la camera, il bagno solo perché glielo abbiamo chiesto...
Peccato, basterebbe solo un minimo sforzo igienico per migliorare
