Unique Exotic Hotel

The food was wholesome and delicious, local produce. The complex has a lot of steps, expect to log up your luggage to your room. It’s approximately 150 steps from the street level to the pool. The entire complex is in the valley and not getting much sun, so it was humid and damp in the room.
It is very noisy in the rooms due to the fact that everything is open. The complex is right on a Hill on the only street to the beach. Motorbikes, cars and trucks will be heard at all times of day at night.

Very nice place with awesome views. It feels as though you are in the middle of a jungle, beside the sea. The meals were delicious with fresh ingredients. The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea given there is no air conditioning and limited wifi in the room. However, like the name says, if you are looking for an eco-friendly place or a place to connect with nature this is a must!

Love the place, the staff is super friendly, the room is amazing, and the villa out of this world.
Strongly recommend, they should level up the food to a boutique hotel standard or give you choices or the menu in advance. Food was simple and ok they can make it magnificent as the rest of the hotel is.

The property was truly unique and pleasantly integrated into the local environment, very tasteful with exotic flower arrangements everywhere, very polite staff that were helpful but very respective of your privacy. Food was uniquely prepared and nice variety. What makes each room and surroundings well truly integrated into the jungle environment also means you hear the environment, so do not expect perfectly quiet rooms, you will hear the frogs and the morning rooster, the birds and the dogs. Bring ear plugs. The manager was delightful and very helpful. Not typical of any resort of high price hotel, but very comfortable and a real eco hotel feeling part of your surroundings. The local beach is a true gem and an easy walk from the hotel!

😊 loved the location, staff, locals, environment, food, volunteers. I cant stress enough how much I loved all of this. If you want a true DR experience, you need to come here. The food here is heavenly like literally. The volunteers who worked there were super chill and we even tagged along with them to a local club in Samana. The city is very safe and friendly. We stayed at the beach rooms and on the second day they upgraded us to the suite above which was very open and one with the nature. Like our very own jungle home. Eco tourism at its best.

☹️ For the $200 we paid, I just wish the mosquito net closed (came back with a lot of itchy bites), bathrooms a bit cleaner and there was hot/warm water available (guess this is the reason we got upgraded). DO NOT book any tours through the hotel cos it's a complete rip off. For a twenty minute boat ride to an island they charged $40 per person. Their tour book said it includes few things. All we got was a boat ride and pick up back ( which was along with a different group). No snorkeling gear either cos apparently they were all broken!! If you go to playa El Valle beach and ask some locals they might take you for $5 to $10 dollars.
My Android phone never connected to their WiFi. I'm okay with all this if I hadn't paid $200 per day. Still had a good experience because of the friendly people.

The only thing I didn't like was that the room was far from the hotel. Because of that, for breakfast and dinner, you have to drive/walk there. Putting that aside, everything was PERFECT.

Beautiful experience, the hotel deserves its name! We had a one night stay and were welcomed with such warmth and simplicity that we are already looking forward to come back! Thank you again and Patricia for your hospitality!

This holiday was the closest to nature I’ve ever been. The great food, super friendly staff n having a beach right at my doorstep only helped even more with the experience. Highly recommend.

Excellent hotel located in El Valle Samana, it's a beautiful Eco Hotel in a great location with friendly and amazing staff.

Surrounded by vegetation, the sounds of nature and the waves makes this hotel the perfect place to disconnect, relax and rest.
Staff were great, we stayed for two nights, from Yago to chef Adrian, everyone made us feel like we were family, check in was a breeze as it was the check out.
We had breakfast and dinner included on our reservation and all the food was prepared by chef Adrian in front of us, truly nice, love the experience and food was very good.

Overall this hotel's location, facilities and staff made out stay at Unique Exotic Hotel all worth it, I definitely recommend this hotel and will be back.

The hotel is beautiful and a short walk to a stunning beach. Woke up in the morning to peacocks on the stairs. We loved how the hotel structure was built around the beautiful rock walls, wood, and lush plant life of the area. Their engagement with the local community, like their architecture, builds to the strengths of the locals, and we were so impressed with the complimentary relationship the hotel has with the town. The staff is a phenomenal crew, and they definitely made our stay feel welcome and memorable. We will definitely be coming back!! (Also the cave-rain shower is stunning...)
