Hôtel Héritage Cognac Centre

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cet établissement ! Du premier contact jusqu'à notre départ: l'entièreté de l'équipe a été aux petits soins avec nous.

Nous avons eu 2 déconvenues, toutefois l'établissement a été reactif et très professionnel. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la propreté de la chambre (attention, l'absence de rideau de douche, inonde la salle de bains), le confort de la literie et surtout le petit-déjeuner.

Nous ne manquerons pas de revenir pour notre prochaine visite à Cognac !

Ottima struttura con personale squisito consigliatissimo

Almost everything about the stay was great. The bed was very comfortable, but the layout with the television was awkward. The shower head was fantastic, but the stall needed a shelf for holding toiletries. The breakfast had a really nice variety, but the hot items were not really hot.

Excellent location. Strongly recommend. Excellent value for money. Nice choice of Cognacs at the bar.

No hotel parking reserved for guests

This is a really hard review to write because the actual hotel, the breakfast and most of the staff were excellent. The room was lovely and air conditioned which was a god send in the 30° plus heat. It was great value for money. I would have given it 5 out of 5 but for one person and that was the horrid, intimidating night porter. I know people often say that French people can be dismissive if you attempt to speak in French but I've never really found this and we've holidayed in France a great deal as my husband is fluent. On our first night at the hotel we didn't have any water in our room so after getting in from meeting friends for dinner and drinks I went downstairs to ask for some water. I asked in French and I know it's not perfect but I was going to give it a go but the rudeness I was greeted with was on another level. Not only was he rude but he was also intimidating and obviously quite liked the power of no one else being around, it being late at night and he obviously felt very much in control of the situation. He told me my French was appalling and that I shouldn't even try to speak to him because it was hideous to him. I was pretty shocked but asked for water in English and he was really annoyed and complaining that he had to go and get it for me. He did get it because I wasn't going to back down but the whole thing was really upsetting.
Interestingly I was there for a wedding being held near by and my husband told the mother of the bride who said she'd had exactly the same experience from presumably the same man when she had stayed there for one night before going on to the wedding venue. She had tried to ask about the hotel being locked as her son was arriving late due to train cancellation. She is a French speaker so was horrified to be told that her French was awful and she shouldn't bother and to her questions not really being answered. I wonder if this nasty person would have done the same if we'd been men? I very much doubt it.
Hotel Heritage you have a lovely hotel, your front of house day staff could not be more helpful, your breakfast was incredible and your rooms were lovely but what are you going to do about this really vile person who is discrediting your establishment? You have a duty of care to your customers not to be intimidated or humiliated by your staff.

Très bel hôtel de charme en plein centre de Cognac vraiment bien rénové et super calme avec une belle cour intérieure. La literie est de bonne qualité et les chambres sont très propres. Petit déjeuner copieux. Personnel à l'accueil compétent mais que personnellement, j'ai trouvé froid

Chosen at random on the internet, I struck lucky with this choice of accommodation for a four day stay in Cognac. The hotel was both charming and extremely well situated in the centre of town. The staff were very welcoming and always keen to help and advise in any way possible. I will definitely return.

Room OK, Breakfast OK, "Concierge" un professionnalisme - see my comment on check-in. In French said comment for her perusal, she badly needs some training.

Stayed here for a wedding along with many of the other guests. Stephanie was amazing throughout - very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. As were the other staff we encountered (the night manager in particular, who had to deal with a lot of drunken behaviour after the wedding events!). The rooms were nice, spacious, and clean. Breakfast was decent - good selection. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff beyond helpful..
Location was perfect in a beautiful street close to the main square and walking distance to everything.

But you must be aware that its a small city ad taxi service is limited... i had to walk to the hotel from the train station and also on my way back.. all the taxis.were fully booked.. 1.4 km not bad but.with a suitcase is not fun... this not the hotel's fault... but you must be aware (the same is i guess for all hotels)

Un peu désuet mais globalement satisfaisant

The hotel is lovely and our dinner was excellent.

This was the perfect place for me to stay in Cognac. The hotel has a fantastic central position with a 2 min walk to a wide selection of bars and restaurants. It is on a shopping street and the majority of the Cognac visitors centres are within a beautiful 10 min walk. The staff were all very welcoming and spoke really excellent English. The hotel is a beautiful house, well adapted to give all the modern facilities you would expect. The overall feel is spacious, light and airy. It was clean in both the room and public areas. Despite the originality of the building everything feels as modern as you would want it to, for example my bathroom has a great low profile multi shower with glass doors, Just because the building retains some character and is tastefully decorated doesn’t mean missing out on the mod-cons we expect today. The Wi-Fi was fast enough to watch TV on a decent sized screen. The breakfast is excellent with cooked and continental both provided. I was intrigued the first night as they were setting up a charcoal fire pit for dinner service. Tables were highly booked but they found a table and I had a great dinner. The bar at the front is a pleasant location to wait for others or just watch the world go by. The bar and restaurant prices are the same as the other bars and restaurants around the corner. So with a great location, super building and excellent staff I would definitely book again.
If you happen to be travelling by motorcycle, there is free safe parking 1 min walk.

Very centrally located but absolutely quiet. The staff are delightful and the British receptionist leads a lovely team. The rooms have everything including black out curtains. The lovely outside space is covered with wisteria. We had a delightful dinner sitting beneath it on a warm evening, plateau de fruits de mer and veal tartare. The garlic aioli was home made and excellent. The waitresses dressed in denim jeans,house polo shirts and white trainers were very well trained and attentive.We followed dinner with a stroll down to a beautiful central circle for coffee and a cognac.
Breakfast was a delight with an orange squeezer for fussy ones and a chilled carafe of juice for everyone with plenty of choice. We will certainly go back.

Unfortunately we arrived late on a Saturday. The parking lot situation was not explained clearly (free parking on the weekend) and we got a parking ticket on the Monday because we did not put money in the meter before 9:00 am.
Otherwise it was a great stay! Alan was an amazing concierge!

Hotel situé sur une rue du centre historique de Cognac. Chambre confortable et spacieuse. Personnel très serviable. Je recommande vivement.

We stayed two nights. The hotel is centrally located in an excellent pedestrian area with shops and restaurants. The owners have done a great job restoring the building with several beautiful details. Parking may be an issue and during our visit a festival was going on in Cognac. Most of the central part was closed so we could not drive to the hotel. We phoned the hotel and a friendly team member gave us good directions. We also got information about where to park and it all turned out very well.

Our room was spacious, very clean and equipped with a/c, coffee maker and tv with several international channels. Breakfast was included in our rate and was very good.

All the team members we encountered did a great job and we really enjoyed our stay here.
