Diamond Hotel

Dimond hotel is located in a busy BOLE road but surprisingly the rooms are quite we where on the 8th floor and it was so quite. The front desk team are so humble.
The room is very clean with a rain forest hot shower. Unfortunately we missed the breakfast but we ordered omlet and machiato specially i like the machiato i even orderd more. All in all dimond hotel is a good place to be.

The staff members are friendly, there is a very quite area around the lobby which you can use the WiFi with a strong connection, and work peacefully without an interruption. Tamrat the barista is very good with his coffee making tricks, and have humble personality. The food is good as well.

Amazing experience to the elixir club with the amazing security Sisay, Ephrem, zlalem, and the barman Kingo is amazing and professional!! Thank you all the staff i fell like home and i feel comfortable on this environment i suggest everybody to come here and enjoy the drink and the shot in the entrance

My stay @ the diamond hotel in addis ababa was nice,but what made it really special was some of the staff,a reception staff member by the name of Yoseph Yohannes was super helpful and friendly,made me feel most welcome and went over and above the call of duty

I went to the Hotel for training for five days. Their food is tasty as well healthy. the overall cleanness is you can tell when you spend time and they have a modern concept of interior design. Their price for food and hot drinks are good when we compare to their service, the wifi is excellent.

I stayed 10nights prior to my arrival the communications with the desk manager was very helpful and really good.

Everyone went out their way to make me welcomed and ensured I had everything I need. I highly recommend this hotel. Its very near to the airport and everything I needed for my stay.

Looking forward to stay again.

A nice quiet hotel situated on the airport road in the Bole area which is a few minutes drive from the International Airport. Service was good and staff quite profession and friendly. The hot was kept neat the time.

Visited in July. Not a bad hotel, but would stay again if I had no other option.
Rooms are carpeted and the carpets are not clean. After check in I requested room to be cleaned again (our room had white couches which had stains on them.)
Breakfast very limited options
customer service very average, I waited for an iron for over 2 days (this is after numerouos calls and visits to the reception) it never came.
Overall it is an "Ok" hotel but not my style

Too many negatives to count:

1. Rooms are incredibly hot (even in rainy season). I completely sweat through my sheets.

2. Given the heat, you'll be tempted to open the windows, but from Thurs - Sun from 4p - 4a, be prepared to experience the sounds of Addis clubbing. The choice was dying from heatstroke or dying from trap music as my lullaby.

3. Poor customer service - examples: a) it took almost 45 minutes just to get a room service menu (I could have gone downstairs and placed an order in that time) and b) it took nearly 4 hours to get a portable A/C brought to my room (it broke down within 30 mins anyway).

4. The food is terrible. The breakfast options are very limited, lack any flavor, and do not include Ethiopian standards. The bread was stale (saw some mold on a piece of toast).

5. Last, but certainly not least, they stole $20 from me! I was going to do a room transfer, but found a nearby hotel instead due to the issues above. I never checked into the new room, but they overcharged me for my original stay (pretended like it was an issue with their computer system).

I will never be back here again and strongly advise others to not frequent this pitiful excuse of a hotel.

I am a Westerner who paid a visit to Hargeisa. The staff provides excellent service. The owner provided security screening of travel agents and drove us to a nearby cultural event, which is far beyond what to expect. I always felt safe at the hotel and nearby facilities. The hotel is entirely new, the rooms are modern and clean. The rooms also have fans in the ceiling, which is convenient at night time. The building also offers a good view of Hargeisa. I got some stunning photos of the sunset.

Best hotel in town indeed.

Throughout my many travels around Africa, I have never felt most welcomed, loved and appreciated like I did in Diamond hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This was a random hotel selection since I needed a getaway change, rest and to reflect as I turn a new year given that my birth date would find me in this hotel. During my planning, communication between me and the hotel which was on mail was excellent in terms of TAT on response, information accuracy on my many inquiries and an extra mile information given to me on what I needed to know given that I was visiting Ethiopia for the first time. All communications were responded to by the front office manager called Meseret Azene who I’d grade as outstanding with an end to end service! She was even kind enough to call me on Saturday night when I landed, which was her off day, to welcome me to Addis and advise that the driver was waiting for me with my name since I had mentioned I was totally green in Ethiopia. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was warmly received and welcomed by a wonderful gentleman called Meles and team who made me feel like I was home. This gentleman called Meles ensured I settled down, got all the help I needed, answered all my questions and advised on locations I wanted to know about and ensured that I was totally comfortable throughout my stay which I also found to be outstanding!
On my birthday, after breakfast and going back to my room, I got a call 2hrs later from Meseret Azene to meet her at the restaurant. To my surprise, some of the restaurant crew was gathered there, a happy birthday song was being played in the restaurant and rose petals sprinkled all the way to a special table set for me at the balcony with cake, a candle and a glass of wine! The most amazing experience I've ever had which will forever be a lifetime memory. My room was also decorated with red rose petals and on the bed, the red petals were arranged to read HBD with a big love heart symbol… stunning! From cleanliness, excellent food, friendly and professional crew including the bar guy called Abraham who ensured I was never bored while seated at the pub and made conversation about various things.
As a certified COPC expert, I would without a doubt give Diamond hotel and the team that welcomed me and ensured I was comfortable throughout my stay an accolade. I would also recommend anyone and everyone across the world to visit this hotel as my experience which is honest and not coerced, was the best customer service and experience ever! KUDOS AND KEEP IT UP TEAM! THANK YOU..

Diamond hotel is amazing and with very beautiful and helpful staff.we really did enjoy the stay and it’s central and close to where everything happening around Bole.Also the management system is amazing.will definitely go again x

I had planned a return visit for an overnight stay at the Diamond Hotel based on a decent experience last year. I made extensive, repeat arrangements to be collected from the close-by airport by the hotel shuttle. This was stressed a few times by email, and confirmed. "Only a pleasure"
Well, there was no shuttle when I arrived. We had an agreed meeting place and they were to hold a sign with my name. As I'd already stepped out of the airport (late evening) I also lost wifi, thus couldn't contact the hotel. Thankfully, much later, a friendly shuttle driver from another hotel called the hotel. They said that the shuttle's telephone was broken and that they couldn't get hold of him. I was told to take a taxi to the hotel and they'd reimburse. This went fine but by now it was 90 minutes after landing and I had an early onward flight; ironically, Ethiopian Airways gave me a FREE hotel stay since flying with them but I didn't utilise this as wanted a more efficient stay at the Diamond. I had even mailed the hotel reception from inside the airport to keep them abreast of my visa on arrival process.

What made matters worse for me was that I had a confirmed booking through a booking platform, and they didn't have this at their ready disposal. I showed them and they looked positively uncomfortable with the price - although the booking was confirmed. They kept asking me when I'd check out again (ie how early), do I really want the room with the jacuzzi (well, I paid for it), and then didn't give me a key. I had to call them from upstairs to insist that I'd like a room key (card).

That said, the porter was very helpful and provided good service (even though I didn't really need or want him). And reception was reasonably friendly but just handled the entire process poorly.

It was unprofessional and awkward and despite the hotel being reasonably nice and otherwise suitable (I enjoyed my first stay) this was a big let down. Also, they advertise rooms that are "sound proof" from all the road noise but far from it - take ear plugs.

Many things can be forgiven but I felt that they handled the process very poorly and therefore I wont return - and I transit through Addis occasionally.

I booked via booking.com , a nice room with a balcony, and the free airport shuttle. And received confirmTion from the hotel. So far so good. Needless to say the shuttle didn't arrive and we had to pay for a taxi to the hotel. Also the room didn't have a balcony, the Windows couldn't be closed because the catches were broken off so we spent the night listening to the never ending flow of traffic. The shower was also broken and the tv couldn't be plugged in because the nearest power source was four metres away. To crown it all we were asked to pay 220 usd for two nights. Our booking.com confirmation stated 168 usd. The difference they said was to pay for the booking.com fee. Very strange. Choose another hotel.

Lovely hotel, really well presented rooms and very modern. Best customer relationship manager i have seen in Addis. Excellent management. Staff are so welcoming and very helpful. Very good all round and would recommend it.

Diamond Hotel. This luxury inn opened a couple of months back,boasting a multi vibe club (traditional Ethiopian, African Pop, Hip Hop/Rap to good old Techno/Electro) a world class resturant and exquisite rooms.
Lets break it down.

Staff- amazing pupils who are always willing to help if you had a problem(from barman,security,front desk etc),english might have been a barrier at times so make sire you are on the same page when giving an instruction.

Rooms- i stayed 17 nights,not one day did we have missing items,unmade and clean rooms.some rooms have no air conditioning but big mobile ones can be provided for extra chill.the rooms are remarkable and some have a great view of Africa Ave.

Noise- the noise is bearable,you get the regular morning and afternoon traffic however they dont honk and shout as much as other countries on their roads.the club operates only on weekends at night so that gives the business traveller a chance to gey some shuteye.

Food- they employed one of the best chefs in the city.he goes all out in not only taste and aroma of the food but display too.5 stars for the food and the dinning experience.

Transport- for now they only have one shuttle,its advisable book the shuttle atleast a day in advance for your convenience.

Business- the lobby and the bar are very conducive places to do meets and greets with business owners and white collard pupils,very popular i might add.

Payments- make sure you do ALL payments at the reception area for any outstanding bills(bar,resturant,club or laundry).And keep ALL receipts just incase there is a communication or system error regarding your bill.

Experience- i know a thing or 2 about hotel hospitality.everywhere i have been you can feel if you overstayed your welcome,but not at diamond.For those 17 nights we might have had minor hiccups but they showed nothing but professionalism till the end.Non the less,never let your guard down in terms of service quality just like one would'nt everywhere else, complacency is real and it can happen.

Me and 4 of my colleagues enjoyed our stay at Diamond Hotel,give it a try.

I stayed in this lovely hotel for more than 10 days Very nice hotel in Addis Ababa & An example of a good Hotel . Without doubt one of the favourite hotel . The staff are friendly, & nice lounge . I had a great time here, which obviously also added up to the experience of Ethiopian culture & language . very nice & constant wifi , service & hot water with excellent pressure ..
special thanks to the front office manager Biruktawt that assisted me much & also there Chief Engineer of the Hotel Eskinder He is so much sociable & very eager to help with the sense of extreme hospitable & fluent English speaker most of the managers are quit good thanks for the Gm that used to welcome me warmly

The Hygiene is very popular, DIamond Hotel Team success.

The lounge was an excellent idea.
The breakfast options were pretty limited, a wider selection of a more continental breakfast would be a great idea.
Also I thought the hotel has a massage service, perhaps they should consider having this. Overall I would give the hotel a 7/10

Wo!wo! What can I say ! The best hotel I have ever stayed in my 35 plus years of traveling. I recommend it 100% .
Rooms and sparkling clean , spacious
They staffs are second to none , they are extraordinarily hospitable, they made me feel very special.
I came in as a guess and left as my dear friends. Thank y’all for your great hospitality I will ever remain to cherish those beautiful moments . I wish I could stayed longer .
