Hotel Palas Pineda

We booked in for a 4 night break on the 9th of October. Our booking could not be found luckily or unlucky as it turned out I had brought my paper work with me. When we entered the bathroom the bottom of the bowl was all stained. There was no toilet brush to clean it myself, which would not be a nice chore. There was mould in the fridge and the dining room was so packed we were walking aroung trying to find a place to sit. The entertainment was cancelled because of the weather but some guy got his hands on the mike and roared for over an hour. The tv did not cater for an english speaker. Eventhough we had paid for the 4 nights on a H/B basic, we left the following morning and booked into another hotel. We did not ask for any refund nor were we offered any. We just could not wait to get out of there.

We had a two bedroom apartment, very spacious but needs a make over.
Staff fine but did not speak or understand English.
Beach area under a massive construction programme at the moment , you still access but not ideal.
Good family hotel with plenty going on if you wanted it but mainly French holiday makers only about 1% English.

The hotel is located in a beautiful location near the sea. Breakfast and dinner are served buffet-style, but the quality of the food leaves much to be desired. There's a lack of fresh fruit and vegetables. English breakfast is available, but of very poor quality. The bar is open until 11 p.m. Two beers at the bar cost 5 euros. A cocktail costs 8.90 euros. The rooms are quite large and spacious, with a clean bathroom. Room cleaning is available upon request. There's no room service. Parking is available for 12 euros per day or free on the street, although there are no parking spaces. The hotel is worth a visit, but it doesn't meet the standards of a 4-star hotel.

We stayed in Palas Pineda in Sept 25, as a group of 5 adults and 1 child. Four of us stayed in the apartments, two in the main hotel.

Pros:
- the hotel is in a great location. Very short walk to the beach and a very short walk to a supermarket and a strip of shops and bars/arcades. Lots to do in the local area.
- all the staff we met were friendly and helpful.
- the animation team are lovely people who are full of energy and cheer! They do a great job with the kids mini-disco and the evening shows.
- the kids play park and kids club area is lovely, the child in our group loved it.
- the indoor pool is great, as is the indoor hot tub which was lovely and warm.
- plenty of space around the pool / available sun-beds
- drinks quality was good at the bars
- the bar operates a system whereby you give a €1 deposit for your cup when you order a drink, each time you get another drink they supply you a fresh glass, and then you get your euro back at the end of the day when you hand your cup back in. Thought this was a great idea as it kept the pool/bar area free from cups blowing around everywhere.
- the pool is great, three waterslides for the kids and a large shallow area that they can paddle around in. Then a smaller totally separate kids pool that’s only ankle deep.

Cons:
- cleanliness isn’t great. Upon our arrival my bedsheets had ink stains on them, my towel had mascara stains on it, the bin in the bathroom was so rusty it had holes in it. On the first day of our holiday we noticed blood droplets going up the stairs to our apartment - they were still there on the last day of our holiday, so it’s clear the floors hadn’t been cleaned in a week. The outdoor areas were quite dirty, especially around the pool. Lots of dirt and grime building up in the communal areas and around the pool drains and outdoor showers. The pool toilets were gross, they smelt really bad and one of the doors had no lock on it.
- the snack bar. The snack bar just appeared to be what hadn’t been eaten at breakfast/lunch brought outside. The hot food and the pastries weren’t covered so they were always crawling with flies and wasps. There wasn’t very much choice, so we were all totally put off eating there.
— Restaurant food was well cooked and there was a good choice, but as with most all inclusive hotels, it was very repetitive. One evening they had a BBQ evening but the burgers were all raw in the middle so we had to abandon ship on those!

In conclusion, a nice hotel and you will have a nice time if you visit, but i don’t feel it’s worthy of its star rating and the outdoor areas could really do with a deep clean!!

Probably the worst hotel I have stayed at. Let’s just say you get what you pay for.

Negatives
Bar staff are RUDE, especially the older gentleman behind the bar, I have never met people like it, grunting and speaking Spanish under their breath.
Buffet food always freezing cold unless you catch the food as it just comes out. Not much variation, a few theme nights during our week, which if wasn’t cold would have been okay.
All included ‘snacks’ in the morning are breakfast leftovers with a DIY toastie machine. All food is left out uncovered and is then covered in flies and wasps. Absolutely disgusting.
Rooms don’t get cleaned every day if you’re not ready for the cleaners when they arrive.
So many filthy ‘clean’ plates at dinner, and the glasses in the dinner hall are filthy with marks which puts you off dinner. If you arrive for dinner at 7pm expect to queue all round the dinner hall to get dinner. Absolutely chaos.
Not much kids entertainment for children out of peak period. Kids club only seemed to be open during weekend.

Positives
I stayed in a duplex which was a nice room, clean on arrival.
Watched the entertainment one night and was actually entertaining.
Drinks with the all inclusive are value for money.
Pool area is nice, during this part of the year you have to get out your own sun bed and people lay them randomly which is then hard to find a space.

Overall I wouldn’t recommend and I certainly wouldn’t come back. If you’re British, it’s not inclusive for us. Mainly French and all entertainment seems to be for them.

We’ve just returned from our stay at Pineda Palas and unfortunately, it was a very mixed experience.

The positives:
The food was definitely the highlight of the trip – plenty of variety and something for everyone. Whether you’re a picky eater or more adventurous, you’ll find something you like. Our room, while on the smaller side, was clean and the beds were surprisingly comfortable, which made for decent sleep.

The negatives:
Sadly, the positives stopped there. The staff were, across the board, incredibly rude and unhelpful – from reception to restaurant to poolside. It felt like guests were treated as an inconvenience rather than customers.
The pool was also a big letdown – not only was it dirty, but there were strange and inconsistent rules enforced. For example, everyone was made to get out of the pool just because it started to rain, yet the lifeguards showed no interest in actually watching the children in the water when it was open.
Evening entertainment was poorly organized, and the animation team didn’t speak any English, which left us (and many other guests) feeling completely left out.

Overall, while there were a couple of redeeming features, the rudeness of the staff and lack of basic cleanliness and safety meant this was not an enjoyable stay. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

Found this hotel to be terrible. Food was not good, and I mean just literally nowhere near 4 star standard, more like 2 star! Breakfast was terrible.
Pool area ok but crowded.
Check in took forever and there was nobody in front of us! Who wants to spend 45 minutes waiting at the desk whilst the receptionist (who was nice) tried to sort rooms for us as it seemed they had overbooked.
Room was nice but could be cleaner around the edges. Air conditioning very poor in rooms and communal areas.
Area around hotel is very, very tacky.

We stayed in one of the apartments, it was nice and clean with a good size balcony overlooking the pool area and albeit small a sea view. The layout was ok but it had double bed in the smaller room and 2 singles pushed together in the main bedroom, it had a nice modern bathroom with walk in shower. The kitchen could have been better and better equipped. There were 2 outdoor pool areas with a decent sized family pool with plenty of sun loungers and an adults only area with a smaller rectangular pool and its own bar that was nice and quiet when we were there. The restaurant got quite hectic at meal times and could be very busy although not any worse than your usual resort, there was a decent selection of food and even the pickiest of people could make a meal. It was only a short walk to the beach and they were nice and clean with toilets and showers.

For context we are a family of five. We stayed in one of the apartments, all inclusive for one week.

Overall we were happy with this hotel. We've done AI in Spain a number of times and this was what you'd expect.

The hotel is very close to the beach. Yes there are works going on, on the promenade but that's progress and not the hotel's fault. The hotel itself is quite a handsome one, we've stayed in some that were just depressing.

The apartment was perfectly fine for five of us, we didn't cook so I've no opinion there. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable. We were facing onto the road which wasn't visually great. The cleaning staff were always around, we sometimes didn't get the room made up but they gave us new towels and were very helpful.

The food and drink was perfectly fine. When you book AI, you have to accept that it isn't Michelin star and I'd find it hard to see how anyone would go hungry. I'm vegetarian and while there wasn't any protein options bar cheese, I ate well, too well!! There seemed to be loads of meats and fish. The breads were really nice, as were the cheeses. The pizza was one of the nicest I've had each night. I didn't try desserts but the family said they were nicer than you'd usually get. I tried the white wine and it was nice enough. I drink mostly Cava which was very very nice. The orange juice is horrible.

There's a bar upstairs called Bar Caoao, it's not included in AI but it's worth sitting up there for a quiet drink, the prices are nowhere as high as Ireland. There's a nice terrace outside of it.

The snack bar is fine, most of the foods come from the restaurant but you won't go hungry. The bar there has all the drinks you'd want.

The pool was lovely, no mad scrummage for sun loungers.

We didn't really take part in the animation side of things but it looked like fun. There is an area off the pool where you can play bowls, table tennis etc but there wasn't much info around on this. I think more people would use these if they were promoted more.

Overall, this was a very relaxed hotel, the staff were very pleasant. No really complaints.

Plus = room very clean / hotel good location / excellent price

Check in staff appear non-engaged / I had booked a particular room as I was travelling for work / of course the room was different / the staff member said no other room was available / asked another staff member later and was given the correct room /

Pool towels are a drama / you have to leave a deposit so if you forget your towel by the pool that’s it / no refund also, I had my towel but had lost the receipt and I felt like a criminal the check out guy questioned that it was my towel!! 👀👀🙄🙄🙄🙄 really!!
The joys of it all.
Breakfast very busy / lots of choice - avoid the orange ( orange aid not juice !! - and so near Valencia!)
The pool area needs serious attention / furniture is very old / rusty / dirty /
- but full of families / not sure if they cared or not. Prices here are very cheap. I didn’t eat dinner here so can’t comment/ restaurants are only average / I found one excellent one / very friendly and great food / eat here 3 nights / called

Palas Pineda: A Five-Star Family Getaway!
Our impromptu trip to Palas Pineda with our family of four Americans was an absolute blast, earning a perfect 5-star review! Everyone had an amazing time, and we can't recommend this hotel enough.

The food was fantastic, catering to all tastes, and even our vegan daughter had a truly great dining experience. The entertainment was a highlight, with the cabaret and Grease show being particularly memorable.

Palas Pineda perfectly balances being family-friendly while still being highly enjoyable for adults. The great beach and fantastic pool were also major perks. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful vacation!

Rooms are quite nice but little bit dirty.
Parking is really bad they have parking they say we arrive and its full so we have to go park public and go every 4 hours to refill the money. So 3 times a day we have to go to the machine.

It is a decent hotel. The room was comfortable. Staff are friendly. The AC is essentially controlled and does not really cool the room very well. Breakfast is good and has a lot of options, but it is a busy resort hotel with lots of guests and so the breakfast area is an intensely busy and slightly chaotic environment. If you are looking for a budget hotel that gets your family two or three meals a day at low cost. This is probably a good choice. Not a great choice though if you want to have a quiet coffee and read the newspaper or do emails over breakfast. Value for price though is quite good.
