What a fun vibe . . .from the check-in being combined with the hotel bar to the little nooks of comfy seating areas throughout the first floor. The stack of games, playful atmosphere, hip decor, and community coffee area all made this seem less like a stuffy hotel and more like a gathering spot to meet new friends. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The actual room made the most of every inch of space and was so thoughtfully laid out. The concept of using the room for just sleeping and the rest of the facility for everything else is a great change from isolating yourself in your room. I will watch for more of the Moxy hotels in other cities when I travel. Appreciated the nice ironing room on each floor as well as the check-in token for a free drink! Didn't use the meeting spaces but looked in on them and they would be perfect for small groups looking for a creative feel. Location is great for walking uptown toward city center and aquarium or walking a couple of blocks south to the Choo-Choo area of restaurants and clubs.
While it was cool to go downstairs and grab the free morning coffee to take back to your room or enjoy with others downstairs, I will say I missed that first caffeine fix before having to face the world. But eliminating coffee makers in the room does save money, avoids waste, and encourages interaction. No fridge in the room but you could request one and have it provided. One thing to note - the parking lot is shared with other businesses close by. I returned after 8:00 p.m. and had difficulty finding a parking space even though I had prepaid for two days of parking. Not the fault of the hotel, but something to be aware of if you are visiting on a weekend.

We loved the contemporary vibe, location, and unique design elements. The staff were very friendly and welcoming!
It is a minor detail, because the overall impact was extremely positive, but some of the lighting in our room (maybe the wattage of the bulbs?) seemed a little weak.
Bel hôtel
Le prix élevé pour le chien 50 dollars en plus du prix de la chambre

Clean, cool & EVERYONE was so helpful and polite. Food & bar were exceptional!
Nothing!
We were very enthused the minute we walked through the doors. The unique lobby vibe was awesome and the bar area was very cool!! Our room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was amazing!
The Hotel has a pretty good vibe with all of the art, couches, and overall layout. The decoration scheme in the room was interesting and carried the theme from the lobby with Edison bulbs, exposed concrete ceiling, and a barn style door on the bathroom. The shower had great pressure. The room has plenty of discrete storage. Each floor has an ironing room so you don't need to do that in your room and have all that equipment. Elevators are secure requiring a room key to go up.
The room was small. The Edison bulbs didn't allow a lot of light. The gym didn't have a good choice of equipment for anyone stronger than an average person who doesn't exercise that much. The lobby is very poorly noise managed- meaning it gets loud in the lobby/bar area which also doubles as the front desk. So, if you try to have a conversation in the bar it becomes too noisy to hear. When I moved from the bar to the large couches with my drink I found most of those weren't regularly cleaned and smelled quite bad, so I hopped from one to another until I found one that didn't smell bad. It can be very difficult to get a front desk matter resolved when the bar is hopping and the person working the desk is also working the bar. There isn't enough parking for the number of beds they have, so when the hotel is anywhere near capacity you will have to be creative in figuring out where to park nearby. Bar prices are pretty steep but there's plenty of options within walking distance. The outside tiki bar is pretty neat, but in the summer the weather is basically soup air when it's not raining, so sitting outside is a 2 and a half season thing. I was visiting in June, so I just didn't spend any time out there. Also, no breakfast to speak of beyond coffee.
Convenient location
The games in the lobby and the draft beer selection. Plus the proximity to various restaurants and the Choo choo.
