Awfull experience : don't accept an " upgrade"
Cons:

Whilst planning our holiday tour around Wales we came across Picton house. The very positive reviews on both rooms and restaurant made us decide to stay a couple of nights in St.Clears . We booked 3 nights luxury room with kingsize bed.

June 2nd we got a mail saying :
Due to availability issues we have upgraded you to our self contained appartment which includes its own kitchen and living area as well as private garden. This will be kept at the same price as your original booking. Please be aware that no food will be available for the first evening, however it will be back to normal from Monday evening onwards. We apologise for the inconvenience. If you have any questions, please get in touch.

I answered we would find somewhere else to eat for the first evening. Assuming there would be a wedding or something similar going on that Sunday.
On arrival the gate was closed with a note the bar was closed. The parking-lot empty.
Instruction had us go around the back past an old caravan. The “appartment” turned out to be an stable with a (very) small bed. The “private garden” a patch of grass of 2x4m. Wooden furniture outside about to collapse. The door was open.
I checked Booking to see if maybe a room had become available. Nothing available.
Next morning we went to the hotel for breakfast. The door was open, reception empty, bar completely cleared out, kitchen empty too. An older couple came downstairs on their way out telling us they had the entire house for the weekend, and it was not really a hotel.
Called the contact number a couple of times from inside the “hotel” : no answer.
At that time we lost faith and decided to leave. Send a mail proposing I’d pay the fist night, but get a refund for the two other nights. So far no apologies, no reply, or refund.

Lovely location..
Pros:

The hosts were very helpful. We needed early access because my daughter's father had a hospital appointment, which she wanted to go to and the hosts very kindly let us check in early!

The breakfasts were very nice. It was a pretty location with views across the fields and trees. The horses were a lovely surprise! The double bed was comfortable and the sheets were spotless. My daughter slept on the bottom bunk bed, I don't know if it was comfortable, but the sheets were spotless!

Cons:

Spiders, lots of them but probably due to the location!

Very pleasant stay with good food and comfortable room
Pros:

Pleasant staff, well maintained and the food for both breakfast and dinner was interesting and good.

Cons:

Isolated location but not an issue for us as we were staying only one night. Towels were hard but no real complaints about the facilities

Excellent stay as always
Pros:

I have stayed here many times and have always been very happy with my visit . The hosts are welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The food is extremely good the breakfast is included in the price and the evening meals are varied delicious and well priced .

Pros:

Sehr freundliche Eigentümer, das Haus ist renoviert und stylisch. Es läuft gute Musik!
Das Frühstück war toll. Das Bett war sehr bequem.

Cons:

Das Zimmer war klein aber ok, jedoch das Bad ist wirklich Mini 80 cm breit! Und die Dusche war leider total voller Schimmel - nicht gut 👎!Sorry.

A wonderful stay that will stay long in the memory.
Pros:

Excellent location and beautiful building, well kept. Staff were friendly, professional and couldn't do enough to help you. Food was excellent as well.

Suited us for the holiday we wanted
Pros:

Shower screen not large enough so water went over side, resorted to baths. Plenty of hot water. Meals excellent but choice did not vary during the week. Cooking to order took a long time. Sunday lunch excellent

Just how I needed it to be.
Pros:

I liked this place. Old converted Georgian house. Quiet. Home cooked breakfast. Didb't manage to eat in the evening, but it smelt so good. Brilliant shower in the bathroom. Comfortable room and bed.

Cons:

Odd noises overhead during one windy night. Didn't keep me awake though.
