The staff and the restaurant. We had a great meal and a lovely cocktail. Location was easy.
The photo above doesn't look anything like our room. Room very small but good beds.
Shower over bath , didn't drain well . Wasn't a great shower .
Myndir af hótelinu og herbergið sem við svo fengum voru ekki að neinu leyti sambærilegt. Baðherbergið var með ónýtri og illa farinni hurð, ekki með glervegg eins og á myndunum heldur frekar subbulegu sturtuhengi, sem er kominn tími á að skipta út.
Decore, gott vibe, mjög kósý, snyrtilegt baðherbergi
Smá þröngt i herberginu, hefði verið fínt að hafa skrifborð en annars bara gott :)
Bed was very comfy and we each got two nice pillows which is unusual. Location is perfect.
I liked that the light switch in the bathroom can be adjusted for low light - only wish I had realized from the start. It's not very obvious that it has that option.
Biggest issue was how dirty the floor was. Realized when I needed to dry the floor (after a shower ) and the paper tissue was dark after drying the floor. Even the floor by the window, behind the bed basically, was also dirty. Floor under bed was very dusty.
I talked to staff about this when checking out and she was genuinely shocked and said this was unusual. So here's hoping this was just me being unlucky.
I was expecting a desk in the room as per description but there was none, only shelves.
No space in bathroom to set anything down. Barely enough room for a toothbrush. Wish they would add shelves in there - there is def room.
Not a big deal for me but could be for someone: In description for the hotel it says there are tv´s in every room. There was no tv in this room.
If I'd stay at this place again I'd always get a bigger room unless I'd be traveling alone.
The hotel was located in central Akureyri, with easy parking nearby. Bed was very nice and comfortable. The room was sizeable and clean. Overall a good stay.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing, very basic. Hotel evening staff was a bit sassy. Noise from the street carries a bit, from evening party-goers, but it's to be expected. Bathroom ventilator was dirty.
Kaffeemaschine.

I gave this hotel a 2-star rating because of how they handled my issue—an issue that, frankly, was more *their* problem than mine. We arrived at the hotel in the evening; we were given our key, briefed on breakfast arrangements, and wished a pleasant stay. I should mention upfront that I had booked an "upgraded" room—a more spacious one—specifically so I’d have room to spread out my luggage and feel more comfortable. We hauled all our luggage up to the top floor, as the elevator takes an absolute eternity. We walked into the room and... oops—surprise! There was no TV. This is in a room costing $1,000 for six nights (specifically, Room 411). I went back down to the front desk to ask what was going on. The young woman at reception—who also doubled as the bartender—told me that the room was definitely *supposed* to have a TV... or so she thought. I mean, it *is* the 21st century out there; TVs have been standard in even the shabbiest "fleabags" for the last 30 years, let alone in a hotel like this one. She started making calls somewhere, then jotted down a manager's phone number; she then ran off somewhere for a couple of minutes—presumably to find that very manager—but in the end, she never actually gave me the number. (And calling out from the room yourself isn't an option either, since there’s no in-room telephone.) She promised to sort it out later, claiming she was currently swamped with work in the restaurant. The next morning, at breakfast, I asked about it again; she made more vague promises. I hoped that when I returned that evening, a TV would have miraculously appeared—but nope. I’m not a beggar, so I just let it go. By the way, the mattress should have been replaced a couple of years ago.
Great location, friendly helpful staff and a very comfortable, clean room.
