the other side of the track with japanese breakfast
Pros:

If you go to matsue all the torist bits are on one side of the station. This hotel is on the other side but with easy reach its a quite 5 minute walk straight down the road next corner past the bridge. The reception is on the first floor but there is a lift near the side to get up to it if you cant use the stairs. The place is run buy some nice old people. The rooms are old and small but adequate and they do have vending machines. We chose to include breakfast which was different with some broth, rice and other stuff we didnt know.it was not for our palet so be warned. this hotel is obviously on the quiet side of town which is also cheaper but peaceful. there is a amusement/gambling building nearby thats interesting. if you want to see matsue walk to the station go to the tourist burea and enquire about the allday little buses that take you on loops to all the quaint sites. well worth it

Pros:

The hotel is within easy walking distance from Matsue station (less than 10 minutes). It offers bicycle hire, and it's a five minute straight ride down to the lake to catch the sunset. It's a good way to see the city. It also offers a free evening bus service to and from a sister hotel to use the Japanese style baths (with views over the lake). The breakfast (included) is also very good.
