Kaskades Hotel South Beach

I didn’t like how the pool was closed, there was no ice machine, housekeeping came early every morning at 9am (while we were sleeping) but never followed back up later in the day. I didn’t like the discoloration of the toilet in my room.

A few issues with clear window in bathroom and no fridge however these were quickly resolved with workarounds from the the staff. The pool was also not as expected however again there was a very good alternative we were able to use in the sister hotel

la opción que yo tomé era con desayuno incluido, nos dijeron que ya no estaba disponible así que nos iban a devolver ese dinero, $20 USD POR DÍA y POR PERSONA, que supuestamente llegaba en 7 a 10 días después de hacer el refund, y ya han pasado 2 semanas de eso y nada que han devuelto ese dinero, adicional a eso, la habitación supuestamente la limpiaban día por medio y solo recibimos 2 días “limpieza” que no barrieron ni cambiaron sábanas, simplemente “hicieron la cama” si se puede decir “echa” porque la verdad es que estaba toda desarmada por debajo del cobertor, y al momento de correr la cortina habían muchos bichos muertos y mucha basura, osea la higiene 0%, no lo recomiendo, adicional a eso preguntamos un montón de veces esos días que nos hospedamos si ya habían hecho la devolución y nos comentaban que estaba en proceso, sin mostrar ningún interés por resolver el problema

I was very happy with my stay here. However, yes, there are small changes that I'd like to see. It's the Little Things that would make this property an awesome place to stay. For example, there were some of the "frequently used items" in my room that needed to be replaced. Also, where I liked the idea of there being a code, instead of the usual Key Card, for the room, perhaps the delay in the door automatically locking needs to be... reviewed. Yes, you can lock the door manually once inside. However, for extra convenience, reduce the automatic time frame by 5 seconds, in my opinion. In closing, these are all small. minor things. I'd absolutely stay here again.

The two biggest nitpicks I had were that one of the cabinet doors could not open, and the floor of the shower has a very small barrier outside of the door, which was not enough to keep water from spilling onto the tile floor, making it a slipping hazard if you do not place a towel at the door

The images on the website of the property are much more polished than the actual property itself. The room was rough around the edges and a bit in need of some fine tuning. The “motorized” shades need to be replaced. Every time you want to open or close the shades needing the pull them SO hard and forceful to get them to work isn’t normal.

The pool was under maintenance during our stay and we were not notified until our arrival at the hotel. Rooms were renovated; however showed some signs of wear. Couldn’t really utilize the patio as there were fire ants crawling all over the railing.
We did have some A/C issues that took a couple of trips from maintenance to sort out.

Needs bigger sign outside to find the lotions and breakfast services which I never saw

It needs modernised, couches were stained but didn’t stop our enjoyment

I asked the hotel beforehand to help decorate the room and they said no problem at all, and would also give a complimentary bottle of champagne to celebrate. Then unfortunately after a few days they replied again saying it’s not possible to help decorate the room, and that I would have to hire a specialist for this… which costs around $400-$800 depending how you want it. I was disappointed for this because it’s unprofessional to first say yes and then no.

Unfortunately they didn’t give the complimentary champagne they promised, so it was kind of unprofessional for me as a hotel.
I’m also a receptionist so maybe I’m more specific on that.
