Absolutely Fantastic – A Perfect Hotel for Individuals and Groups Alike!
I’ve had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Guineu on multiple occasions – both as a solo visitor and as part of a large school group of 55 students and staff – and each time has been nothing short of exceptional.
From the moment you arrive, the staff welcome you with such warmth and genuine hospitality that you immediately feel at ease. Whether travelling alone or with a large group, they go above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly. No request is ever too much, and every need is handled with care, professionalism, and a smile.
The rooms are always clean, tidy, and spacious, providing a comfortable environment for rest after a long day. The facilities are well-maintained, and it’s clear that the hotel takes great pride in cleanliness and presentation.
The food is a particular highlight – varied, delicious, and with options to suit everyone, including our group of young students who always had something they enjoyed.
Special mention must go to Jordi and Zanti, who were simply incredible with our students. Their friendly, approachable nature and willingness to help made a huge difference, and they contributed greatly to the overall success of our stay.
Hotel Guineu is a truly welcoming, well-run, and flexible hotel, perfect for both personal travel and educational visits. I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it to others. A big thank you to the entire team for always making our experience so memorable!
Very friendly hotel close to the slopes. We came with a group of 93, school trip. We had the entire hotel to ourselves. Good breakfast buffet with full English breakfast and much more, in the evenings food that was highly appreciated by the kids and staff. Rooms al tidy, they told me this summer they will change rooms to more modern standards but like is now is is good enough for me. Staff and management very friendly and extremely helpful. Muchos gracias por todo😀
Just returned from our first visit to Pas de la casa, Andorra. We had a great time and recommend the resort and the hotel. The hotel is very well located, just a few minutes from the slopes. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed the food. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of both hot and cold options and lovely fresh pastries and croissants. Dinner was equally good and the hotel were very accommodating with food allergies and made sure there were vegetarian options available each night. Thank you, we will return.
The hotel staff were helpful and kind. The room was good. We had half board included in the booking and unfortunately most of the food was dry and overcooked. The only thing that was eatable was the salad. A lot of the food that they served was prefabricated. They should try to find someone that knows how to cook.
Nice staff, good service but a little bit inexperienced. But the food was really terrible. I don’t know how it possible to fail with scrambled eggs for a week or serve totally overcooked and tasteless dinners for the whole week we visited them. The food get 1 star out of 5 and that’s being nice.
First the good bits:
Great location only 50yds from the piste.
Room adequate with a comfortable bed and a small bath with a shower above it.
Enough wardrobe space and hooks near the door for damp ski gear. Well cleaned every day. Small safe.
Now the bad bits:
The food was nearly always cold. I understand there was a problem with the warming plates. By Tuesday they had run out of butter so no butter for morning toast or evening rolls. When asked the reply was ‘it’s on order’. Why (in a town full of supermarkets) wouldn’t you just pop out and get some. It turned up a few days later.
2 out of 3 of our party were very ill and while you can’t necessarily blame the hotel food cold food is an obvious place to start.
The ski lockers in the basement garage aren’t heated so boots had no chance to dry overnight. Within a few days several guests resorted to taking their boots up to their bedroom.
We stayed at this hotel over the Christmas period this year and were not disappointed. We had the most amazing time and would definitely re-visit again and again.
The hotel is a small, family owned place which is very close to the slopes and ski hire shop. It is incredibly clean and the staff are extremely friendly. The breakfast and dinner buffets always had a good selection of food to chose from and the three course Christmas meal was utterly delicious.
Our room was spacious enough for a weeks stay with a double bed, separate toilet and shower and double sinks in the room. We had a safe which was free to use and the room was cleaned daily. (This included clean bedding and fresh towels).
The staff and owners here really are the main reason we would happily return. They are so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best stay. I am so sad to see the previous review was so bad and can honestly say this was not the staff or the hotel owners fault.
The couple who wrote that review stayed in the hotel at the same time as us and i think it is only fair people hear the other side too. They were an extremely miserable couple and all they did was moan about everything for the entire week.
On arrival at the hotel, we were in fact asked politely by staff if we would mind swapping rooms with the couple, as they were making a scene in reception because they did not have a bath in their room. We kindly swapped rooms with them and honestly, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the room. (It just didn't have a bath). During the week, they found anything and everything they could to complain about which really is not a fair review or representation of the hotel.
I hope people see this review and plenty of other reviews that agree with it and disregard nasty people trying to give a small, family business a bad name.
Gave us a room with no bathroom on arrival, a shower in a cupboard and sink in the bedroom. No storage or room for a week’s stay. Went to reception and was made to wait until everyone had checked in even though we were first and had been travelling 12 hours. Reception staff not interested and dismissive Food is awful. Just had tinned peaches and yogurt for dessert, which is what I had for breakfast this morning! Rice pudding or jelly were the other options….No labels on any food so most is unidentifiable. Tonight they re served last nights rice, pork and fish dishes! Opened the bedroom window for air and there were 5 people below smoking at the hotel entrance doors. Smoke quickly filled the room and was unbearable. Asked reception to assist, ie, ask people to refrain from
smoking under the bedroom window and they said: can’t do anything. Rooms are noisy with furniture scraped across the floors, can hear stomping feet, disturbs sleep. Family above had abusive row one night and kept us awake for 2 hrs. Never again!
We came to ski. Our priorities were close to slopes and half board.
As previous reviews said it’s an excellent location moments from the slopes and ski hire. Perfect for our needs.
A simple clean hotel, with very helpful staff. Our room 201 consisted of a large double bed and a single. Separate shower and toilet with 2 wash hand basins in the bedroom. Enough storage and free safe. Only suggestion would be a couple of hooks to hang up damp ski jackets. We overlooked the side of the hotel and could see the chairlift from the window.
Other reviews mentioned noise but we had no issues. We had a window open at night and apart from the odd car or person walking by it was very quiet and no noise from other rooms that was in anyway intrusive.
Large powerful shower and plenty of hot water.
Rooms cleaned each day to a high standard.
The half board food was a plentiful buffet style offering. Good choices at both breakfast and dinner and some variety each night, but always a spaghetti bolognese available ! Simple wholesome food with plenty of vegetables.
You pay for water with your evening meal but free at breakfast.
Ski lockers are provided operated by a 50 cents coin. Ski boots did not really dry out but they do ask no ski boots in room. There is also underground parking which we think you need to pay for.
It’s a family owned hotel and the family eat in the main restaurant as well so always on hand. All staff were helpful, friendly and always had a smile on their faces. A very warm welcome received at this hotel.
We have no complaints and if you are looking for a clean base to ski with ample tasty food close to the slopes then we are very happy to recommend.
We stayed in this hotel as part of Crystal holidays and it was a great choice. The hotel is 1min walk to the ski slopes. We had twin room with three beds which helps to use the third bed for all our ski clothes.Room was enough specious for two and large bathroom with shower and disabled toilet( which can come handy if you'll get an injury).
We were half board, breakfast had everything you'll need and dinner too with excellent salads. Dinner starts at 7.30pm so it can be a big gap between breakfast and dinner. In the Garage are lockers for ski equipment per each room with easy walk to the slopes. The staff is amazing, from cleaners, dinning staff to receptionists and always helpful. The bar is a chill area where you can sit during the day or have a few drinks in the evening, prices very decent.
The clientelle is more mature and you don't get groups of young noise people which Pas is famous for.Our room was facing in the court and was very quiet with good night sleep.
I would definitely come back to this hotel and recommend to others.
Lovely hotel and perfect location for the slopes and ski rental.
Good food variety with breakfast and dinner provided.
Storage for your skis is ideally located and easy to access with a lift up to your room. The slopes are a 20 yard walk if that & conveniently located just by two great restaurants serving pancakes from 4 o’clock!
The staff are wonderful and very good with children, really patient and playful.
I needed a cup of milk for my youngest around 11 pm, the Kitchen staff were more than happy to help me even though they’ve been closed for quite awhile.
Sadly, the hotel is noisy so if you’re going with your family, please be aware of that. The streets around the hotel when the bars kick out becomes very loud between the hours of 1 am and 4 am, also if people are moving furniture above or below you, you will definitely hear it, including toilet flushing and bathwater being emptied.
If you are heavy sleeper or your children sleep deeply, I’m sure it won’t be a problem.
+ less than 2 min walk to the slopes
+ spacious boot room
+ great ski hire shop very close (Duna Blanca)
+ hotel is very clean
+ good powerful showers
+ lovely staff
+ plenty of food
+ great bar/ communal area
- the street outside is very noisy, all night
