Pros:

Very disappointing stay – nowhere near 5★ standard

I don’t often make the effort to write reviews, but on this occasion I felt compelled—almost obliged—to do so, to warn others from making the same mistake. This was genuinely one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. This hotel markets itself as a 5★ resort, but in reality it barely meets a 4★ standard. Please do not rely on the many 5★ reviews, as I strongly believe these are either encouraged or influenced by the entertainment team during guests’ stays.

From the moment we arrived, the experience was poor. Our passports were taken at check-in and we were then left waiting for over 3 hours before anyone was able to properly assist us. This resulted in me having to repeatedly return to the front desk just to chase updates. There is a clear lack of organisation, urgency, and adequate staffing. The reception area itself also lacks sufficient seating, making the wait even more uncomfortable.

Lifeguards were too busy looking at their mobile phones, than looking pool.

A large part of the hotel was closed or under maintenance, which was never mentioned on the website. During our stay there were JCB diggers on the beach moving sand and workers laying grass, completely ruining the atmosphere you would expect from a luxury beachfront resort.

Key facilities were also closed, including the kids’ pools and slides, which was extremely frustrating travelling with children. The kids club looked very outdated (like something from the early 2000s) and didn’t appear particularly clean or well maintained. As a result, my children were extremely bored throughout the stay, which ultimately forced us to cut our holiday short and book an early flight home at significant additional cost.

The drinks were another big disappointment. Most cocktails were extremely artificial, bright in colour and overly sweet. Only local alcohol is included in the all-inclusive package, and you must pay extra for recognised brands, which is not what many people expect from a supposed 5★ resort. The included beer and wine were also very poor quality.

Rooms were very basic and not properly cleaned on arrival (we found hair). There were no small amenities you would normally expect such as cotton pads or extras—just basic refillable shampoo, conditioner and hand soap. There was also no helpful information in the room—no menus, brochures or welcome guide—just a tiny QR code on the key card pointing to an app.

Other room issues included:• Very dated TV with no smart features (no Netflix etc.)• Old kettle that continued boiling unless manually switched off (safety concern)• Coffee machine that didn’t function properly• No stocked minibar options• No room service available

Dining was poor. The main restaurant felt overcrowded and not particularly clean at times, and staff often did not not bring water unless repeatedly asked. Food quality was acceptable but nothing memorable.

Other strange limitations included the hot tub and sauna being closed daily between 12–3pm with no clear explanation.

One thing that really stood out was how the entertainment team actively pressured guests to leave 5★ reviews during their stay, which makes many of the glowing ratings feel very questionable.

Overall, the hotel looks nothing like the promotional photos and feels very misleading. It seems like a property trying to present itself as luxury without delivering the service, facilities or quality to justify it.

Summary:If you are expecting a true 5★ experience, you will likely be very disappointed. There are much better options in Tunisia for the same price.

Decent stay but not quite the 5 star experience advertised
Pros:

I recently stayed at Iberostar Kuriat Palace and overall had a good experience but it depends on what you’re expecting.

If you’re going in expecting a true 4 or 5 star room, you might be a bit disappointed. The room itself wasn’t terrible by any means but it definitely didn’t feel luxurious and some of the in room facilities were quite basic.

Service could also be slow at times for example, I asked for an extra pillow over three days and never received one.

The food was nice but fairly repetitive. There’s plenty of choice but it doesn’t change much day to day which I suppose is fairly typical for an all inclusive buffet.

Where the hotel really stands out is the staff. Everyone was genuinely friendly and welcoming, from the cleaners to the bar staff which makes a big difference to the overall experience.

The animation team, in particular, are what elevate this place. They bring so much energy and there’s always something going on whether it’s activities during the day or entertainment in the evening. They really make the hotel feel more lively and enjoyable. I especially enjoyed the yoga sessions and the dance/steps classes, they were a highlight of the trip. Zuzu and Kenny were great.

One thing to be aware of is the location. There isn’t much within walking distance so you’ll need taxis to go anywhere which can involve a bit of haggling.

I would also say to take some of the reviews with a pinch of salt. During our stay, staff did approach guests and make them to leave five star reviews on the spot, sometimes even selecting the rating themselves. While this doesn’t take away from the positive aspects of the hotel, it’s worth keeping in mind when reading reviews.

Overall, I’d rate it around 3 stars. It’s not perfect but it’s a fun, friendly place to stay and the animation team really make the experience.

Amazing
Pros:

Just got back from staying in this hotel with my daughter, son-in law and granddaughter Ezmae for a week, it was amazing, all the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us especially Ezmae, the food was amazing, the rooms were outstanding just a little shame about the weather some days it was cold. The 3 staff that stood out to us were Azhar, Tahar & Ahmed they really made the holiday for us the best it could possibly be, Ahmed is so funny and made us laugh so much a very cheeky chappie :) I feel they should receive some recognition for this. My only criticism is the house white wine wasn't very good and I felt there should have been alternatives instead. On the whole I would just like to say a very big thankyou to all we had a fab time.

2 week stay
Pros:

We stayed for 2 weeks at the end of Febuary. What an amazing hotel. It didn't fail to impress. The staff couldn't do enough for you, they were brilliant. Luka was brilliant with the entertainments, he went out of his way to always stop and speak when ever he passed us. The hotel was supper clean. The food was amazing, with plenty of choice every day. We have spent the last 20 years goiung to the Greek islands to a Greek hotel chain and this was head and shoulders above. Definitely will be back.

Honest review
Pros:

Arrived and was informed that my booking was half board , I then pulled up my receipts on my phone stating all inclusive . We were left sitting whilst reception sorted things . Near an hour later we got our room . Room is beautiful,on soda or water in fridge and coffee machine broke . Coffee machine reported ( will update this review at the end . Food not bad , decent selection and everyone is attentive . Sadly , no kids pool open but I am hoping to see this change in a day or 2 . Weather hit and miss but still manage to sit out and soak up some rays . Cocktails are lovely and been off to bed early , nice and quiet no noise from bar of in room 139 . I am here for my birthday so hope to be able to update this review when my trip is to end when I leave . There’s no ships or anything close by and we took a taxi yesterday but shops not much to offer so may take train to Monastir this week so I can shop . Been to Tunisia about 6 times before Hammamet , Mahdia and Sousse . Update incoming

Amazing experience
Pros:

We went as a couple at the end of February 2026. I know that the weather here can be hit & miss in February but our first day was cold & windy, the second slightly better. The next 5 days were bright cloudless sunshine around 20-21 degrees for around 8 hours a day.
The hotel is immaculately clean.
Check in
We were told to sit down & one of the reception team come over & explained everything straightforward process.
Bars
This for me is the highlight of the hotel. The service is absolutely impeccable & you will never be left with an empty glass. The Tunisian lager is called Celtia & it honestly isnt bad. The cocktails on the menu are amazing, but the barmen will make any cocktail that you ask for. They will even take a photo of a cocktail on your phone if they dont know it & the barman will make it.
The staff will never leave you with an empty glass
Big shout out to Moetez (amazing attentive waiter), Khmea & Ousema on the inside bar on an evening. Simply the best.
Ali in a morning brilliant too.
The pool bar & beach bar were both closed.
Restaurants
I thought the restaurant was good but nothing special. Some days I thought the choice was lacking, others were better the day before we left was excellent.
Breakfast didnt have mushrooms or hash browns either. I accept that there was no bacon as a condition of going to Tunisia.
The snack bar was nice but a samey after a few days. Excellent service though.
We didnt go to either of the al la cartes so can't comment on those.
Pools
The indoor pool was warm & busy throughout the day. The outdoor pool was aesthetically pleasing but unfortunately too cold to go in.
Animation team
The animation team were excellent every one that we spoke to. Luka, Djappa, Pica all lovely genuine people. The activities include darts, Arabic lessons, Tunisian cooking, yoga & stretching. Depending on the weather this time of year they can be inside or outside.
Rooms
Excellent spacious rooms with a huge bed. Big shout out to the cleaners who did an excellent job of keeping our room spotless. We had a sea view which had a great view but no sun. If you want sun on the terrace then either the Privalege rooms or the garden view rooms. The garden rooms actually all have decent views.
Entertainment
Most of the entertainment was very good. The karaoke night was fun. There was some singers on which were very good too. The best night if the week was the Tunisian night which had some man with a mask on dancing & a belly dancer too. Brilliant night!
Beach & sea
Pleasant enough but probably a bit early in the season for a swim in the sea.

Prestige I expected more.
Pros:

Just returned from our week’s holiday at the hotel.
First of all , we had a nice time and food was very good (especially for a fussy husband).
Before leaving home, I dm’d hotel from this page to request a sea view if possible,I had booked through a travel agent and had upgraded to the Prestige package with garden view I told to ask on arrival which I did, was late at night and receptionist had asked if I could speak to Day staff,
Not a problem.
Came down in the morning and asked again if I could have a sea view?
Our “garden view” was a motorway, rail line and Airport.
I was then informed yes I could get a sea view but it would cost me £25 (yes pounds) PER DAY.
I declined this fabulous offer.
We were there for 7 days .
As I said everything was Fine.
I got speaking to other travellers only to find out that 3-4 people told me they got upgraded to Prestige for Free!!!
I only paid the extra for a walk in shower as I need assistance with my walking abilities.
We had a late flight and requested if we could keep our room on as we were not getting picked up to 6:55 pm.
Reception agreed because I’m disabled and sitting in a wheelchair that they would wave the 130 dinar charge of which I was very grateful for. We had to use another room as ours was booked.
Again not a problem. Got to the other room Only to find out that it was the exact same Kuriat Palace Hoteld this was a Standard room, Not happy.
Entertainment was good, the team came and spoke to us and asking us did we enjoy it? To which we replied yes. One of the younger team members asks me am I on the Kuriat Palace Hotel page? My reply was yes it’s been very helpful. He then proceeds to say “no, not that one”.
He then asks for my phone to show me what “page” he was talking about. I was perfectly ok with that.
He then proceeds to go into rating the hotel services on this page and starts to answer all questions with a 5 star rating, I immediately removed my phone and deleted his star rating and told him I would rate the service when I decided and with my experience.
Expectations were not met for our second time in Tunisia.
The first hotel we stayed at bypassed our expectations.
Sorry won’t be back.
PRESTIGE DEFINITELY not worth the extra cost 😔

This is my experience Only

Saved our holiday!!
Pros:

After a disappointing first night in the hotel next door we decided to move hotels for the remaining 6 nights of our holiday. We walked to Iberostar Kuriat and were welcomed with open arms. The reception staff organised a tour and the porter (he was absolutely fantastic, an asset to the hotel) took us around the hotel. This hotel was clean, beautifully maintained, staff went above and beyond and the food and drinks were incredible. We checked out of the neighbouring hotel after one night and checked into the Kuriat. Knowing how our first night in a neighbouring hotel went so badly the porter spoke to his manager and upgraded us! This hotel saved our holiday and we were so grateful to all who helped us make those 6 days the best experience for our family and 5 month old son. Thank you Iberostar Kuriat!!! We would absolutely return to this hotel and have already recommended to friends and family.

The most honest review you’ll find of Iberostar Kuriat Palace.
Pros:

This is genuinely the most honest review you’ll find on this place as I’m so easily pleased- but the waiters make you write 5 star reviews on google so don’t trust everything you see. I only felt right to write up an honest review. As a British person it definitely isn’t a 5 star hotel HOWEVER the food and entertainment makes it great. That’s about it really. I witnessed the bar staff have a physical fight which was unpleasant in my stay. There was young children around too, it was just so unprofessional. When I complained, nothing was done which was shocking and in all honesty I don’t think they cared much. The entertainment however, was on point, genuinely couldn’t fault it at all it’s the best entertainment I’ve ever had at a hotel. When I arrived my room was messy and then they just transferred us into another room, the room was okay nothing that seemed 5 star though. The cleaning staff were fabulous and on my birthday they made a nice decoration in my room for me. So I’m not much of a complainer but for the price we paid I’d have been better off somewhere else. However, for Tunisia it’s a good stay as there isn’t many good hotels around to be honest, but I much preferred Jaz Tour Khalef hotel wise and being close to other things. The outside area wasn’t very big either, and the hotel is pretty far from everything you can only travel in a vehicle. Consider all of this before you stay, as the price I do think is pretty extreme. I’ve got to say the concierge was fabulous, the entertainment and food which is why I made it a 3 star, or else it would be a very bad review.

HOTEL BRILLANT SHAME ABOUT WEATHER but will return the staff deserve all the credit.
Pros:

great experience made more by reception mangeress AWAH (apologies if spelt wrong )
whom made the holiday better giving us star prestige bands becasue the wife had her birthday badges on
even arranged for a meal in the al la carte resturant and birthday cake what a fantasic start to her birthday and holiday thanks very very much
But i would add a footnote to the "managers" you really should put up a sign saying "Blue band holders" as although we didnt pay for the privelege some guests were not happy and other guests took full advantge of the drinks on offer EVENTUALLY the man in charge did ask them to leave but not very often . on the plus we will now ensure we pay for this prestige expereince . But needs to be controlled .
before i go on a few points to mention :
1)The patio doors on the our floor room (1) were very hard to open.
2) Unfortunatley There were landscape teams with huge diggers and even from the top floor was very loud.
3) the entertainment at nights needs to be reviewed but i should hope this was because of the early season . I use to work for Haven holidays and their entertainment was bad but not as bad as this lot. Out of the 7 nights two were okay (oustide acts) . For a four star hotel this was abysmal .
4) accomadation very good but needs refurbish sooner rather than later
Good points which are very extensive list The workers were amazing the food was amazing the hotel spotless . The bar team were outstanding Mamoud needs to be mention. The waiters , the buffet team, the room cleaners all were brillant
Not a lot to do oputside of hotel walk along beach was not in mind safe plenty of characters that stared at you making for not a pleasant walk very run down buildings . will go back next year as the holiday was considering how cheap the holiday was it was a great expereince will defo use the star prestige experience again. but needs controlling ........

Top-Class overall experience
Pros:

Exceptional Treatment and Warm Hospitality
Throughout our stay, we felt truly welcomed and valued as guests. Every member of the team treated us with genuine warmth, respect and care.
Check-in was smooth, friendly and efficient. Staff were consistently attentive without ever being intrusive. Any question or small request was handled quickly, politely and with a smile.
One of the greatest strengths of the hotel is their dedicated staff. I was impressed by their professionalism and the way they were always available, approachable and eager to help.
The food quality, selection and service during our stay were excellent Also the hotel cleanliness and maintenance were outstanding. It was evident that cleanliness and hygiene are taken very seriously and this gave us great confidence and peace of mind.
Taken together, our experience at Iberostar Selection Kuriat Palace, Monastir Tunisia clearly reflects top-class management.
We look forward to visiting Iberostar Selection Kuriat Palace Monastir, Tunisia again in the future.

Pros:

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and comfortable, which made the stay especially relaxing. The food was delicious with a great variety of options, and every meal was enjoyable. I would also like to highlight the excellent service — the staff were very friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Especially the waitress Muhammed, which is the best in doing cocktails. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Definitely recommend. Amazing hotel.
Pros:

Excellent hotel. The staff make this hotel . They are so helpful and professional and nothing is too much. Special mention to Yassime and Mohamed Salah in the restaurant- they made our week. Also nice to see one of the chefs walking around the restaurant checking on people. He was a real character and a put a smile on everyone’s faces. A real nice touch . Could mention countless others but too many to mention.

Food was good quality and hot which is sometimes difficult on a buffet . Loved the freshly squeezed orange juice and strawberry juice at breakfast and the omelettes made to order. Plenty of variety of options. Really enjoyed the seafood and Tunisia à la carte restaurants.

The cocktails were really nice and not the usual sickly sweet cocktails you get in other hotels with the sugary syrup. Staff in the bar and on the beach kept us topped up at all times.

Room was lovely as we had a suite and pay for the prestige bar which was worth it. Nice to sit up on the balcony terrace and the Stella beer was great.

Definitely recommend and Will definitely be going back.

A lovely break away. Out of season(review based on that)
Pros:

THE HOTEL
Minor tweaks here and there, little niggles really.....the tv worked the first few nights, english channels but nothing after that and was nice for bed time.
No irons in the rooms is a little disappointing and maybe something which needs changing
The shower pressure wasnt great but was quickly fixed and lovely after that
The pool is freezing but it is the wrong time of year
The patio doors on the ground floor rooms arent the most secure and need to be changed.
The towels for the sunbeds have to be collected from the downstairs gym area.....something that needs to be better thought out
Entertainment is good but repetitive however I guess its out of season and maybe there is more to do when it picks up
Beach bar- wasnt open even though we were told it would be on check in

THE FOOD/DRINKS

Drinks are plentyful but 100% take some teabags with you as they arent the same. Cocktails were decent, beer all good

Food choice in the buffet was ok, some good stuff, some not so good. Of the 3 A la Carte choices the Italian and Seafood were nice, the Tunisian was really disappointing

CLEANLINESS
There is always cleaning going on and the maid did our room each day, was pleasant and did a good job

DAY TRIPS
Some good trips from the hotel, personally did the colloseum, Catamaran and the quad biking, all good value for money

THE STAFF

The concierge YOUSSEF was really friendly and did a great job, a real asset to the hotel

AZI and MO in the bar were excellent, really looking after ky family and me

LUKA AND MIDU are real assets to the team. Great job guys, you made our holiday!

All the staff in general were very good, and the reception were on hand 24/7

THE AIRPORT

You are not allowed DINAR past passport control so make sure you spend all of it, or change it back at the airport(keep all receipts or you cant) and when you pass, just tell them you only have card, no cash.
(This of course is not the hotel but a top tip).

All in all a lovely holiday, a 4* in my opinion but an enjoyable experience and look forward to seeing Tunisia again, but maybe in season
