The hotel staff met us at the train station and walked us back to the motel. The staff was excellent and very helpful even preparing an early morning bagged breakfast so that we could be some of the first one to Machu Picchu. The only complaint was that we didn't have hot water for the shower. My friend just down the hall did however. Highly recommend.
Awful hotel. The hotel is sited next to a recreation ground where there are amusements and loud music till late (not where Hotels.com.shows it). As we wanted to get a good sleep.before an early start for Machupicchu not getting to sleep until.after midnight left us tired and spoiled our day at MP which was meant to be the highlight of our trip. Owner/manager was rude. One of the beds hadnt been changed - lots of hair in it and room not particulaly clean. Got a room change but that didnt deal.with the noise level. Second night woken by builders hammering and drilling next door. Shower tempremental - difficult to get a constant temperature. Wifi the only good thing... it worked! Over-priced. Surely there are better places than this. Would not stay there again for sure!
The guy at reception - he's a nice guy and they go beyond to help you out if you can.
Conditions at the hostel are basic- the water not so hot so earlier in the year when it's colder - perhaps it wouldn't be so great...but there was a good thick blanket on the bed
Good, basic and cheap for one night’s stay prior to visiting Machu Picchu- however there was quite a lot of noise from other hostel guests (e.g. shouting and playing music into the early hours) which was quite disruptive for us.
