A small, beautifully located, tasteful boutique, villa-style hotel in a stunning location and with truly excellent staff
Pros:

We took the suite on an upgrade offer and it was stunning. The views of the lake were superb. The room was as spacious and tastefully decorated with a great bathroom. The location was very quiet about 30 mins from central Kandy and 2 hour from Knuckles which was ideal for us. The food was excellent with a generous breakfast and good dinner options. Finally the staff were amazing, genuinely kind, attentive and helpful.

Cons:

The light switches were a bit puzzling but we got the hang of them after one night.

Wunderbar für einen entspannten Aufenthalt in außergewöhnlicher Umgebung
Pros:

Außergewöhnlich schöne Lage und sehr zuvorkommende Gastgeber, die sich unglaublich bemühen, einen schönen Aufenthalt zu bereiten. Im See kann man wunderbar baden. Auf jeden Fall sehr empfehlenswert zum Entspannen auf der Reise. Wir haben von hier aus schöne Ausflüge in die Knuckle Mountains und zum Rangala Natural Pool gemacht.

Calm, nature filled stay with great staff and food.
Pros:

A beautiful building in lovely surroundings with the lake on 3 sides.
Great bedroom, fantastic shower, and a balcony in the trees with birds and chipmunks in the branches.
Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Breakfast was super. The reception rooms were lovely with views of the lake.

Cons:

This is advisory and not that we didn’t like it, but it is located down a single track lane, with sharp turns and slopes. Some drivers wouldn’t come down it so needed the manager to organise a TukTuk.

Amazing staff. Friendly, home style

Lovely staff. Amazing views. Ridiculous price. Great breakfast. Right in the heart of nature.

The road leading up is narrow. So be prepared. But almost all jungle properties are similar. It’s why the
Views are so spectacular.

Pros:

La struttura è davvero meravigliosa. Sebbene la strada per raggiungerla sia un po’ complicata in realtà il disagio viene ripagato dalla bellezza del luogo. Le camere sono spaziose e con vetrate bellissime verso l’esterno. La sala comune è unica nel suo genere poiché la casa è incastonato dentro una roccia. Il cibo è delizioso e i gestori lo sono altrettanto. Gentilissimi, molto disponibili e davvero affabili.

Pros:

It's not a conventional hotel or resort. We saw at least 20 species of birds including Srilankan Grey Hornbill (they wake you up by knocking on your window). We enjoyed the lake, reflections of mountains on water and the stuff is wonderful.

Cons:

It's a little understaffed.

Worth the money , very peaceful and a pleasant experience
Pros:

The property was very good, nicely maintained and had a rustic charm. Surrounded by lake and greenery. Food was delicious and the staff were wonderful.
One the best place in Kandy!

Mooie plek met een prachtig uitzicht. Vriendelijk personeel, lekker ontbijt en goede cappuccino.

Cons:

Houd er rekening mee dat het écht in de middle of nowhere is, en dat je er alleen met een tuk-tuk kunt komen.

Pros:

The location is outside of town but it worth it, next to the lake secluded place

Cons:

The staff was amazing, they make sure that you are well taken care , prepared specially vegetarian breakfast fast with large spread. Night was wonderful with bonfire and some fire crackers . Best value for money

Geweldige locatie. De mooiste tijdens ons verblijf in Sri Lanka. Mooi uitzicht, fijn hotel, Personeel uitstekend en iedere avond maakte ze een kampvuur voor ons. Avondeten brachten ze naar ons terras, we logeerde in de suite met uitzicht op het meer. Je zag continu diertjes/vogels waar je ook keek. Een belevenis! Onze chauffeer kon er niet komen met zijn auto maar ze belde tuktuk voor ons of brachten ons zelf naar de hoofdweg.

Unclear Pricing and Service Issues Despite a Beautiful Location
Pros:

The location was great! Awesome view, place was clean. And Vimale the care taker was extremely nice and friendly

Cons:

My wife and i stayed here for one night for our honeymoon because the location looked beautiful and the reviews seemed promising. We originally booked a Deluxe Double Room but decided to upgrade to the Suite. We also, asked if something special can be done since it was our honeymoon, even something small like some fruits or even a slice of cake. But, the manager explained it was too late of a request even though we checked in around 6pm. That's also somewhat understandable.

Before check-in, the manager informed us that no dinner could be ordered since we were the only guests and the cook had been sent home. This was also understandable, and we simply brought some dinner from a nearby restaurant before check in. However, issues began when the manager offered us a 15% discount for the Suite. The confirmed total price through Booking.com was USD 117 “out the door.” for the suite. Naturally, we expected the 15% discount to be applied to that amount. Instead, at checkout the manager claimed the room was USD 130 and applied the discount to that higher price, leaving us with a final bill of USD 110 instead of 100 USD. This is not about the $10 difference we have tipped people more than that for good service—it is about the misleading approach. Guests should be able to trust that pricing is transparent. The manager should also be more familiar with how Booking.com pricing works, rather than dismissing it with “we don’t know anything about Booking.com charges.” This creates unnecessary confusion.

Breakfast was another disappointment. Even though it was tasty. The manager specifically told us it would be ready by 8:30 a.m., yet he had not even informed the cook. We had to go and ask the cook ourselves when breakfast could be prepared, and it was finally served around 10:00 a.m. This is not acceptable, especially when guests are relying on timely service and our check out time was 11am.
