Professional property host/manager
Good selection of room types. Was able to book four adults and one child into a seven person room. Hotel cose to Apia CBD and main hospital.
Rate included breakfast.
Loved how clean the property was.
Carparking was small and hard to get out
of due to having to reverse.
Upon check in, I was asked for payment when I had already paid online via Expedia, staff member asked for a receipt as proof of this, would have thought this should had been updated on their system already.
Conveniently located a few minutes from town so we could pop in and out as we needed. Staff were helpful.
I was generally happy with the room. I couldn't get my TV working so I called down twice an hour between calls but no one came. I asked again the next morning and it was fixed.
There was old soap in the shower which made me question the cleanliness???
Great location and generally friendly and the girls helped me with my bags.
Staff are very lovely and helpful
Faith was fantastic! She was so nice and friendly. She woke up early every morning to make breakfast for us. She truly made us feel welcome to Apia!
The noise from some of the quests in the hotel went till 2:00am in the morning need to look into it and control by the hotel. The breakfast need to improved a little bit as well. Overal the rooms are very accomodate and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. Thank you Alec's Hotel.
They need more stuff an clean the rooms better very bad experience of checking in no one around waited for a hour an maid in training help us it crazy room was not ready even tho we book it 24 hour ago it should have been ready it was dirty an smell bad the worst was the fridge smelled like fish smh told the maid she said sorry smh
My money was not worth of my stay, convenient to place, neatness is fine. Wifi was not on.towers was not in a standard, so dirry. Found hand tower so dirty folded up for the guest.
We really enjoyed our stay at Alec Home Away. Our room was nice and clean. The Air Con worked perfectly well. Staff were amazing. Will definitely stay with you guys again when we are back on the island.
Many Thanks
Hamatupu & Sulu
Decent hotel with a great Italian restaurant Giordano just a min away.
Breakfast was simple with fresh fruits, toast and cereal.
Rooms were new, and staff were nice.
Great location - plenty of restaurants nearby and shops on the same street. My partner worked out at a nearby gym which is 10 mins walk and only 10 tala for casual use. Customer service was outstanding! From the very start, hotel manager was helpful and staff were attentive to all our needs. Breakfast was provided with 24 hour reception to assist with any enquires. Laundry was 30 tala for a load and very quick! Got it that night - washed, dried and folded.
We were fortunate to have a room with two windows and a nice view. Standard hotel room size with usual essentials - kettle, mini fridge, microwave and complementary toiletries. Only downside would be car park was bit small (but free), couldn't watch anything on tv as it wasn't clear, and lastly blankets on bed wasn't enough. Had to wear a jumper to bed if we had the aircon on - tried turning it off with windows open but Samoa nights does not cool down. Apart from that, we were very happy with our stay and very grateful for the staffs exceptional service. Fa'afetai lava!
The focus on being environmentally friendly is so unique. We had a family room which was a large room with 6 single beds and there were only 4 of us, all adults. They might need to rethink the emergency stairs though. If you stay there you'll know what i mean. But it was a great facility for two nights. And the staff are lovely.
Advantages
Location was great pharmacy in front great prices too. Shop around the corner and laundromat too. Also the main hospital was there as well as Apia the main town. The staff were ok but the only downfall was COMMUNICATION with the staff.
One staff would say you pay this amount the other something completely different.
Disadvantages
Not kid friendly
Car parks very few
No elevators for heavy luggage upstairs
No blankets as aircon gets cold we were told to turn aircon off which we did or down but when you have the aircon facing your bed it’s hard.
We did get sick from the flu returning home.
We had a spare bed in the family room and a family member came to use it from overseas she was charged $50tala extra per night👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
The staff were impeccable and assisted me in every way possible. Thank you for the downstairs bedroom that I requested. Bed was very comfortable! I wish I stayed there longer but will definitely return to Alec's when I am in Samoa next time. Faafetai lava mo mea uma. Ia faamanuia le Atua i le au faigaluega faapea le pisinisi.
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast included, handy to Apia, excellent corner store adjacent. Would stay there again.
The weren’t terribly friendly upon our arrival. The pool didn’t look clean.
A convenient location.
Neither bad nor good.
Stay at Lynn’s Getaway instead.
Great cheap new location to stay in Apia, where only real issue was the TV signal (nothing much to watch anyway)
The hotel doubles up as a medical clinic, which seems a bit odd but is actually a great way of providing affordable care in a tourism-centric developing country
The pizzeria across the road is amazing - gotta try the Palusami pizza!
unable to lock door on 1st room and transfer to another room that don't have a window drapes
Confortable beds, had the best sleep. Friendly staff and very welcoming. The rooms were very clean and done up very well. So different from all other hotels. Best Part it has a Clinic and Pharmacy. Was nice to chill out in the pool, that was really great. Great location, tidy and clean. Everything is excellent! I'll stay there again for sure.
