Great service and lovely cocktails
Our family came to Beijing on holiday and stayed at the Wangfujing Mandarin Oriental, absolutely brilliant! The front desk staff spoke perfect English, so check‑in was a breeze. The location’s spot on, walking distance to the Forbidden City and Wangfujing Street, which saved heaps of time and hassle with the kids. The hotel set us up with a cot, little pressies for the kids, and even a dedicated kids’ menu, our little ones loved it. The view from our room looked straight over the Forbidden City, and watching the sunrise there in the morning was just stunning. The staff were super friendly to our kids too. The whole family was chuffed, highly recommend to any family!
Wan and Mike are the perfect bartenders I have every met in Beijing 👍

We celebrated a family birthday at Mandarin Grill in Beijing and had a wonderful brunch experience.
The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, making it an excellent choice for a special family occasion. The brunch offered a generous selection of high-quality dishes, all beautifully presented and carefully prepared.
A special thank-you to Elma, the manager, and Cici for their attentive and thoughtful service. They made the celebration feel personal without ever being intrusive.
Mandarin Grill is a great choice in Beijing for a luxury weekend brunch, a birthday celebration or a memorable family meal. We will gladly return.
The rooftop bar Mo Bar is a must-visit with great view, a big variety of drinks. Special Thanks to Leo for the amazing service.

Finally got a chance to visit Beijing and this beautiful hotel. highly recommended and special thanks to Tina from reception who helped us so much during the stay. She speaks wonderful english and always act professionally and efficiently. I will definitely come back soon!
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Beijing, elegantly designed and immaculately maintained. The staff are all courteous and friendly, creating an atmosphere of welcoming hospitality. A huge thanks to our wonderful tour guides Huo Shao Fai (Richard), who took us to the Great Wall and Forbidden City and Kevin Hu, who took us around the Terracotta Warriors. Absolute stellar chaps, felt easily relaxed and comfortable with them, they went out of their way to ensure we had the best experience. Their knowledge is extensive and Chinenglish exceptional! Thank you so much to the hotel for organizing this for us and thankyou guys for being so marvellous.
Great breakfast and view
We visited MO Bar one evening in August and had a great experience. The cocktails were creative and interesting, and the staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Everyone spoke English, which made everything very easy.
The view over the Forbidden City is beautiful, although at night the Forbidden City itself is quite dark as it is not illuminated. I would recommend coming around sunset to enjoy the view at its best.
A special mention to Lio, the bar captain, who was particularly helpful and attentive throughout our visit.
Great cocktails, excellent service and a beautiful location. Definitely worth visiting!
地點很好!

Definitely one of the best hotels in Beijing - with beautiful terrace overlooking the forbidden city. Boutique style atmosphere, great cocktail environment at night on terrace, well luxury fitted rooms, and attentive service.
I stayed at the MO Wandfujing for three nights/4 days in July 2026.
Silk member here of the Fan of MO programme.
This is a smaller hotel (70 or so rooms) in a very lively area of Beijing.
Check-in was decent. The check-in agent took me to my (premier) room on the 6th floor which was absolutely lovely.
During my trip in China, I stayed at the MO Shanghai, the MO Guangzhou and the MO Beijing. I would say that the room at MO Beijing ranks first in terms of how luxurious and elegant it was (except perhaps the carpet which I always find odd in these types of properties).
The view was nice (but certainly not as nice as the one I had in MO Shanghai whioch ranks first for views and service).
The room was extremely comfortable. The bed was excellent. The choice of coffee and tea was good. The welcome amenity was thoughtful (fruits and local pastries).
After my first night, I noticed a very strong smell of mold/humidity in the room which was really not pleasant. I hesitated to report it to the front desk but did so because the smell kept getting stronger according to me. While I was away visiting the Great Wall, I got message telling me that two devices had been installed in my room to fight the smell. When I got back, the devices were indeed there and the smell was much better. I however had to turn off these devices at night because they were really loud, in my view, which meant the smell was back in the morning.
The hotel apologised profusely and offered me a candle (which was really not necessary).
Breakfast was excellent. The choice is truly special. But two things did spoil the experience for me: first there were really rude (foreign) guests taking phone calls on speaker mode from their breakfast table and having endless loud conversations with no regard for other customers. I do not understand how that can be tolerated at a property like this, especially in the morning when people need a sense of quiet and peace. Secondly, I did not understand the rush of the staff to bring you a check to sign minutes after you sit down (even though breakfast was part of my Silk benefits). After the first cup of coffee and the first bite, a bill suddenly appeared. Not appropriate, in my view.
I was offered a small tin of tea on my last day by the breakfast team which I thought was really nice. The staff was very kind indeed.
I tried Café Zi for dinner. Decent experience. Does not compare to Jiang by Chef Fei (MO Guangzhou) but had an overall good experience. As Silk member, you are supposed to get a surprise from the Chef : that never happened for me. Oh well.
I also tried the MO bar with its nice rooftop and its exquisite cocktails.
Laundry service was reliable.
All in all, I would say that apart from the really beautiful room I got, I feel there was no sense of being at a Mandarin Oriental. My experiences with MO hotels so far were very different in terms of service, in particular. It was not until I checked-out with Quentin on my last day that I thought : "Ha, this is maybe a Mandarin Oriental after all". The level of professionalism that Quentin provided at check-out was up to MO's standards but I did not come across such service at MO Wangfujing until I checked-out, which is a pity.
To me, there was something that truly highlights the shift in MO's standards: at night, the housekeeping staff would leave a bookmark on your bed, with inspirational words depending on the day of the week. It was nice but it seemed awfully very standardized to me and unlike any MO experience I had before. In other MO properties worldwide, you do get a bookmark but you do also get a (very) small gesture of appreciation which goes a long way in acknowledging the client's loyalty to MO. In London, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Taipei; you would in fact get a different small gift every night with a beautiful farewell letter of the General Manager on your last night. The value of these small gifts was close to zero but made a difference in terms of loyalty for the regular MO clients. MO Beijing needs to and can do better.
I would probably not stay here again if I visit Beijing in the future but I am really glad I did and really enjoyed my stay.
The place is amazing and I must say Leo and Cinta where so nice to us! I highly recommend this place.
We spent three wonderful days at Mandarin Oriental as a family with our five-year-old daughter.
During our stay, we enjoyed the breakfast, the Chinese restaurant, and the swimming pool. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, and the warm, attentive service made us feel truly at home. A special thank you to Stena, whose kindness and genuine hospitality made our stay even more memorable.
Our daughter became so attached to the hotel that she even cried before we left, saying she didn’t want to leave. That alone speaks volumes about how special our experience was.
Thank you to the entire team for your heartfelt care and dedication.
Stayed here for three nights and had a great experience. The location in Wangfujing was perfect—within walking distance of the Forbidden City, shopping streets, and plenty of restaurants. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet despite being in such a busy area.
A special thanks to Tina from the Front Office. She was genuinely warm, professional, and always happy to help. From check-in to local recommendations, she made everything smooth and made us feel truly welcome. Small gestures like hers really made a difference.
I’d definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Beijing. Highly recommended!
