Your food tour begins in a traditional old neighborhood, a local favorite filled with small food shops and the lively atmosphere of everyday Guangzhou. This is where we will start tasting our way through the city. Our first stop is a local shop for Cantonese Rice Rolls, one of Guangzhou’s most beloved local foods. Unlike regular rice rolls, these are made using the traditional bula method, where rice batter is steamed on a cloth into a thin sheet before being rolled by hand. The result is wonderfully soft, delicate, and silky. Next, enjoy a refreshing mango dessert, a popular local sweet made with fresh fruit. Guangzhou is famous for its traditional sweet soups, which often use simple ingredients such as fruit and beans to create light and refreshing flavors. If you are allergic to mango, you can choose traditional mung bean sweet soup instead. A delicious first taste of Guangzhou, with local food, lively streets, and plenty more to come!
