What: A prolonged period of strong winds is expected When: This afternoon through Thursday Where: - Fraser Canyon Additional information: A strong low pressure system will bring a prolonged period of strong winds to the Fraser Canyon. Winds are expected to pick up this afternoon, with gusts reaching up to 80 km/h. As the low pressure moves down the B.C. coast, winds will further intensify early Thursday morning with gusts possibly exceeding 90 km/h throughout the day, before easing late that evening. ### Local utility outages are possible. Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
