Snow squalls are expected to develop. Under the snow squall bands, visibility will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate. Location: Inverness - south of Mabou, Cape Breton and Richmond counties. Additional snowfall: 5 cm in snow squalls. Maximum wind gusts: northerly 50 km/h. Time span: improving later this evening. ### Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Snow squall watches are issued when localized, intense snowfall causing rapid accumulation and/or reduced visibility is possible. Snow squalls are expected. Under the snow squall bands, visibility will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will rapidly accumulate. Locations: Inverness - Mabou and north and Victoria counties. Total snowfall: 5 to 10 cm, except locally up to 30 cm in snow squalls. Maximum wind gusts: northerly 50 km/h. Time span: continuing until tonight. Remarks: Snow squalls have developed, with one intense band stretching from just south of Grand Etang towards Baddeck. This band may remain near stationary for much of the day and snowfall rates of 5 cm per hour or higher are possible within this band. ### Travel will likely be hazardous. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Snow squall warnings are issued when localized, intense snowfall causing rapid accumulation and/or visibility near zero is expected.
