What to expect

Imagine, standing at the bank of a beautiful river that emerges from around a bend. The sky above you is big, broad, and wide. In the distance, you see lava fields and mountains. There are no houses, cities, roads or cars, only the meandering sheep and horses grazing about.

In your hand you have a rod and nothing but time and fish on your mind. Brown trout and arctic char up to 2 pounds, and occasionally to 5 pounds, swim these waters. With guidance, skill, and luck you will catch them.

On this incredible day-trip from Reykjavik, you will leave in the morning on an 8-hour adventure; past lava fields and by horse and sheep farms. On the one hour drive from Reykjavik, hot coffee and cinnamon rolls will be served.

On the river, our guides will give you the lay of the land, the river and the gear you will use. Throughout your fishing experience they will support and make suggestions about where to fish and which tackle to use.

And at the end of the day, you can enjoy a meal of fresh fish and potatoes before heading back to Reykjavik.

Fly fishing: You can fish with nymphs, dry flies, or streamers.
Spinnings rod: You will use worms and lures - try them both and see how it goes!
