    Day 1

    Bucharest–Curtea de arges–Sibiu

    Triumph Arch (Arcul de Triumf)

    Set out in the morning towards Transylvania region.

    Curtea de Arges Monastery

    On your way will stop at Curtea de Arges Monastery. Explore this Moorish style Orthodox church that is considered to be the Romanian faith center for Orthodoxism.

    Transfagarasan Highway

    If the weather allows it make your way towards Sibiu city through Transfagarasan Road. Reach in the afternoon in Sibiu where you will do a walking tour of this magical city. Please note that between the period of June-October Transfgarasan Road is open. If the Transfagarasan Road is closed the alternative route of Olt Valley River Road will be used.

    Sibiu Travel

    Reach in the afternoon Sibiu city. This average size towns holds history throughout it’s Old town section. Tour the Old Town to explore the Big Square and the small Square as our guide will let you thru history.

    Sibiu–Alba-Iulia–Maramures

    Cetatea Alba Iulia

    After breakfast set out for Alba Iulia city to visit a well preserved town that shows you medieval history and ancient history in the same spot. Alba Iulia is a former Roman city that was built to protect the nearby mines of gold after the Romans have conquered the area of Transylvania. Alba Iulia is also known for being the city where the unification of Romania was signed in 1918 forming the very own country that you are visiting today. Check out the Orthodox Monastery, the Main gates of the city as well as other spots from inside the citadel.

    The Wooden Churches of Maramures

    After Alba Iulia head for the medieval Corvin Castle, one of the most emblematic castle for this region. Reach in the afternoon the region of Maramures in Breb Village. Have a traditional Wooden House for the accommodation.

    Maramures excursion

    Barsana Monastery

    After breakfast set out in the morning for your Maramures excursion. Your first stop will be at one of the most important monasteries of the area, Barsana monastery that offers an insight of the local culture with wood carventing skills. Head for the Wood Carventer, one of the few craftsmen of the area that will offer an idea of how wood carventing is done in Maramures.

    Reach Dragomiresti Museum to find out about more about Maramures culture from a local with a visit at traditional house with it’s traditional belongings

    Merry Cemetery

    End your day at the Merry Cemetery where your guide will read funny stories of people of Maramures, that have been buried in the cemetery. Built in 1947 this cemetery offers a different perspective on how after life should be approached, by taking it into a more funny way rather than sad way.

    Maramures-Sighisoara

    Centrul Istoric Sighisoara

    Today you will travel back to central part of Transylvania, into the town of Sighisoara. This well preserved town is the birthplace of Vlad Dracula and nowadays it attracts visitors with it's fairytale look. Take a walking tour with our guide to explore more about this fantastic medieval town.

    Sighisoara–Biertan - Viscri–Brasov

    Biertan Fortified Church

    Set out in the morning for Biertan Fortified Church which is a UNESCO Heritage site. This is a former church built in Medieval times it sits on top of the hill with a great view over the village. Inside the church our guide will explain the history of this place and also the reason why is so well known.

    Viscri Fortified Church

    After Biertan fortified church head for Viscri Village. Viscri is known as one of the most well preserved Transylvanian villages and it does that so well as Prince Charles decided to buy several houses within the village. As you stroll thru this UNESCO Heritage site you will see how people used to live and still live nowadays in the same old ways. Check out the local fortified church and should you wish, try a local traditional lunch ( own expense).

    Brasov Historical Center

    Reach in the afternoon Brasov city. Before you check-in in your hotel, stroll the city in a short walking tour with our guide. Pass next the Black Church and hear the history behind this magnificent building. See the Council Square and do not forget to pass at the main former gates of the city.

    Brasov – Bran – Peles – Bucharest

    Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle)

    Set out fresh in the morning after your breakfast and head for Bran castle. This 14th century castle was built to act as a main custom point between Transylvania and Wallachia. Also Bran castle is known for it's connection with Vlad Dracula's legend and story. Join our guide inside the castle to find out more about the real story behind Vlad Dracula and Bran Castle. After the castle do not forget to check out the market in front of the castle for souvenirs.

    Peles Castle

    Once done with Bran castle, you will travel thru the Carpathian Mountains, passing ski resorts until you reach Peles castle situated in Sinaia Town. Enter the Peles castle and discover a well preserved, magnificent palace built in the 19th by the first king of the country. Explore the hallways as our guide will let you thru each and one detail of the rooms. Peles castle is also known as the Pearl of the Carpathian. After Peles head back to Bucharest. End of service.
