One of the first houses built in Key West, the famous author lived there from 1931 to 1940 and wrote a large portion of his works while in residence at the vast mansion. He also ended his days there. This visit is a journey to the heart of the author's genius.
There is no shortage of heavenly beaches in Key West. With their turquoise waters, they are the equal of any of the Caribbean beaches further south. Smathers Beach and Higgs Beach are perfect places to cool off.
Key West is home to many interesting museums, most of them located on Duval Street. The Key West Museum of Art & History is a small museum highlighting Key West's history, art and architecture.
The Key West Shipwreck Museum traces the naval history of Key West, the sea is at the heart of the island's economic development, as well the history of the ships that sank off Key West.
