    Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids

    After breakfast, enjoy a full-day guided tour to Saqqara, home to the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, the oldest stone pyramid in Egypt and the earliest of Egypt’s 97 pyramids. Explore the surrounding pyramid complex, considered one of the most significant archaeological sites in Egypt. Travel by road to visit a traditional handmade carpet school, where you can observe the craftsmanship behind Egypt’s famous carpets. Continue to the Great Pyramids of Giza, the only surviving monument of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Discover the three largest and best-preserved pyramids in Egypt. The Great Pyramid of King Cheops (Khufu), constructed from approximately 2.3 million stone blocks.     Bibliotheca Alexandrina

    After breakfast at 07:00, depart by private deluxe vehicle for a full-day guided tour to Alexandria (approximately 3 hours’ drive). Begin your guided tour with a visit to the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, an extraordinary underground burial complex dating back to the 2nd century AD. Continue to the Citadel of Qaitbay (1468–1496 AD), strategically located at the entrance of Alexandria’s Eastern Harbor on the site of the legendary Pharos Lighthouse. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean. After lunch, stop for photos at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (New Library of Alexandria), built near the site of the ancient Great Library. Opened in 2002, the library has shelf space for 8 million books, accommodates 3,000 readers. Later, visit the beautiful Montazah Gardens and the former summer palaces of Egypt’s royal family, set amid lush landscapes overlooking the sea. Return to Cairo, and overnight.     The Egyptian Museum in Cairo

    After breakfast, enjoy a full-day guided tour in Cairo starting with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, home to more than 120,000 artifacts spanning ancient Egyptian civilization. The museum’s highlights are the treasures of King Tutankhamun. Continue to Old Cairo, a historic area where Judaism and Christianity flourished in Egypt. Explore the remains of the Fortress of Babylon, originally built by the Persians in the 6th century BC, considered Cairo’s oldest surviving structure. Within its walls, visit the Church of St. Sergius (Abu Serga), believed to be one of the resting places of the Holy Family during their flight into Egypt. The Hanging Church, one of the oldest churches in Egypt and the former seat of the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate. Ben Ezra Synagogue, a basilica-style synagogue famous for the discovery of the Geniza Documents. Later, visit the vibrant Khan El Khalili Bazaar, Cairo’s most famous traditional market.
