Pico de Loro offers you a direct connection with Mother Earth as you make your way through the clouds through its forest of fog and lands full of thick jungle surrounded by waterfalls and rivers that will make you feel in paradise.

Once at the top we contemplate an extraordinary view of the Valle del Cauca and the Farallones of Cali, you will feel peace with yourself and you will discover yourself step by step while you breathe fresh and pure air from the Pacific that conquers the mountain and glides between the clouds, stones and dense vegetation.

Pico de Loro is located within the Farallones National Natural Park of Cali, in this park inhabit more than 540 species of birds along with species in danger of extinction unique in Colombia and the world. Here, more than 30 rivers that supply the south west of Colombia are also born. Without a doubt, a privileged place that invites you to reconciliation with nature.

Clarifications - The contracted service DOES NOT include transportation of any kind, nor does pick-up or drop-off at the lodging place. - We will help you hire the transportation service, in case you do not have your own or rented vehicle. - The tour is only available in Spanish.

What to expect

We will begin our adventure early in the morning, arriving at 7:00am at the previously agreed upon meeting point.

We will receive instructions from the rangers, the native guide or environmental interpreter, along with all the recommendations to follow while inside the Farallones de Cali National Natural Park.

This hike begins around 1,600 meters above sea level and we will climb to 2,860 meters above sea level.

This tour is recommended for people who have experience climbing mountains and are in very good physical condition.

The complete walk can be done between 6 to 8 hours, this time may vary depending on physical capacity and resistance.

This Walk is not recommended for people who suffer from heart disease, hypertension, not suitable for sedentary people or people with knee, hip, shoulder problems or recent osteoarticular injuries.

NOTE: We will be in the mountains without access to places to buy food, be sure to bring water, snacks and fruits to eat during the hike.

  • Travelers should have a high level of physical fitness
  • The length of the walk is 4.5 km one way (9 km in total) and the terrain can be muddy and slippery. You will ascend from 1,600 m. up to 2,860 m.
  • In a small briefcase, carry: Extra clothes, aquas-hoes or water shoes, small towel, flip flops, rain poncho or waterproof jacket, plastic bag, hat, sunscreen, mosquito repellent and bottle of water.
