    Shanghai-Beijing by High Speed Train

    Shanghai

    In the morning, our Shanghai driver will pick you up from your hotel at 5 a.m. and transfer you to Shanghai Hongqiao Train Station for train G2 (07:00-11:36) or a similar train to Beijing.

    Beijing

    Upon your arrival in Beijing (please arrive before 12:00), our guide will meet you at the train station exit, holding a board with your name. You will then board the private car to start the tour.

    Mutianyu Great Wall

    After lunch, you will visit the Mutianyu Great Wall, the most scenic part of the Chinese Great Wall. It was built in the early Ming Dynasty in 1368 and stretches 5400 meters. 90% of the Mutianyu Great Wall is covered by vegetation. So in each season, this part of the Great Wall will treat visitors with its unique scenery. If hiking is too much for you, cable car is available and optional (cost on your own). On the way back to the city area, we will make a stop at Bird’s Nest and Water Cube to pay an outer visit and take some pictures. Back to the hotel at around 17:30.

    Beijing-Shanghai by High Speed Train

    Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang)

    At 08:00 am, our guide and driver will greet you at your hotel in the Beijing city area. First, we will take a walk on Tiananmen Square, the heart and symbol of Beijing and the largest city square in the world. The spacious square has been used for many public celebrations, ceremonies, and demonstrations for over a hundred years.

    Forbidden City-The Palace Museum

    Then you will pay a visit the Forbidden City (closed on each Monday), one of the largest and most completely preserved palace complex built with wood. It functioned as the imperial palace in the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1912). There were 24 emperors of the two dynasties lived in the Forbidden City. Notice: As Forbidden city is closed on Mondays, the visiting order would be adjusted if your Forbidden City tour just happens on Monday.

    Temple of Heaven

    After lunch (at your own expense), we will pay a visit to the Temple of Heaven. Located in the southern part of Beijing, it is serviced as a complex of sacrificial buildings where Emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties prayed for peace and harvest.

    Summer Palace (Yiheyuan)

    Today’s last stop will be Summer Palace. It is located at the west skirt of Beijing and covers an area of 290 hectares. In the Qing Dynasty during the Qianlong Era, the Summer Palace was built by copying the layout of the West Lake in Hangzhou. Now it is the largest and most completely preserved imperial garden in China. After the tour is finished, you will be escorted back to your hotel in Beijing, or transferred to the train station for train G27 (19:00-23:29) or similar back to Shanghai.
