In the morning, your Egyptologist guide will meet you at your hotel and transfer you to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the only museum in the world dedicated exclusively to the civilization and heritage of Ancient Egypt. As you enter the main plaza, you’ll be greeted by the Hanging Obelisk of King Ramses II, featuring his cartouche, a remarkable symbol of his legacy and rebirth. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by the magnificent red granite statue of King Ramses II, one of the museum’s most iconic landmarks, symbolizing the power and legacy of one of Egypt’s greatest pharaohs.
The museum’s main galleries showcase thousands of years of Ancient Egyptian history through monumental statues, royal treasures, temple carvings, coffins, and exquisite jewelry. Highlights include: • Ten Statues of Senusret I: Monumental Middle Kingdom statues portraying the pharaoh in different poses and reflecting his divine and protective role. • Colossal Ptolemaic Statues: Impressive pink granite statues representing a Ptolemaic king and queen, highlighting Egypt’s Hellenistic era. • Victory Columns: Monumental columns decorated with detailed carvings commemorating royal victories. • Royal Regalia: A remarkable collection of crowns, jewelry, and royal accessories showcasing the craftsmanship of Ancient Egyptian artisans.
The Grand Staircase – Steps Towards Eternity Continue to the Grand Staircase, where 64 monumental treasures tell the story of Egypt’s kings, their royal image, and their connection with the gods. At the top, enjoy a spectacular view of the Giza Pyramids through the museum’s glass façade. The Grand Staircase not only displays monumental artifacts but also tells the story of the ancient Egyptian journey after death. As visitors ascend the staircase, they symbolically follow the path that ancient Egyptians believed every soul took to reach eternity. The lower part of the staircase represents life on earth, with statues and artifacts showing kings and gods who ruled and protected the people. Moving upward, the exhibits begin to reflect the beliefs about death and the afterlife.
Tutankhamun Exhibition One of the museum’s greatest highlights is the collection of King Tutankhamun, featuring thousands of treasures discovered in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings. Among the most famous pieces are his iconic gilded funerary mask, inlaid with lapis lazuli, and his impressive quartzite sarcophagus with its nested coffins, including the innermost solid-gold coffin.
The Khufu Ship Discover the remarkable Khufu Ship, also known as the Solar Boat, a royal vessel dating back to the reign of Pharaoh Khufu. Discovered near the Giza Pyramids, the ship reflects the advanced engineering skills of the ancient Egyptians and their beliefs about the pharaoh’s journey into the afterlife.
