    Delphi Ancient Town

    In the archeological site, among several other remains of important buildings, you will see the agora, the sacred way where all the hundreds of bronze monumental statues dedicated by the different cities to the sanctuary were, the treasury of Athens, the rock of Sibyla, the stoa (portico) of the Athenians, the temple of Apollo, the base and restored part of the tripod of the battle of Plataea, the theatre etc.

    Delphi Archaeological Museum

    In the archeological museum are housed all findings that were excavated from the archeological site. Bronze and clay offerings (tripods and figurines) , the sphinx of Naxos, the freeze of the treasury house of the island of Sifnos, the remaining parts of the once burned gold and ivory statues of Apollo and Artemis, the silver bull, parts of the wall of the Athenian treasury with inscriptions, several marble very well preserved classical statues, the very famous and impressive bronze charioteer etc. If the assumptions of the archaeologists are correct and this was the tomb of Agamemnon, try to imagine the amount of gold and jewels that must have been placed there, in order for him to take with to the afterlife.
