Step inside Schindler’s Enamel Factory, today one of Kraków’s most powerful and widely visited museums. Accompanied by a licensed expert guide, explore the permanent exhibition “Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939–1945”, presented through the story of Oskar Schindler. This was the site where Schindler employed Jewish workers and used his influence, resources, and personal risk to shield them from deportation. More than one thousand people survived as a result of his actions. As you move through the exhibition, your guide brings forward the voices of those he saved—often referred to as Schindlerjuden—whose testimonies continue to resonate today. Historical photographs, personal belongings, and reconstructed streetscapes reveal the daily realities of life under occupation: fear, uncertainty, and constant danger. Against this backdrop of oppression, Schindler’s actions stand out as a rare and powerful example of compassion and resistance.
