Spend an afternoon with our certified guides and enjoy the majestic scenery of Kealakekua Bay while learning about its rich history and cultural importance.

We kayak the Bay from the Pier at Napoo’poo landing across the the protected shore of Ka’awaloa where we spend our time leisurely snorkeling above beautiful coral heads and a drop off that plunges to almost 250?.

We’ll enjoy a light snack and some drinks on shore and share stories from Captain Cooks visits to the island while visiting his monument. The paddle back always seems to end too soon and before you know it we’re back at the pier where the tour wraps up.

What to expect

We would be stoked to have you join us for a Midday Meander Kayak and Snorkel Adventure in Kealakekua Bay. Guests meet us at our location in Kealakekua, where we review Marine Life Conservation Rules, provide a thorough orientation and outfit guests with snorkel gear. Guests then drive themselves down to Kealakekua Bay where their guide is waiting for them with all of their gear already set up and ready to go. We will do a quick safety talk before launching our kayaks from the Napoopoo Pier. We take a leisurely pace as we paddle the mile from the pier to the landing at Ka'awaloa where Captain Cook's Monument stands, taking time to watch for Marine Mammals (dolphins and whales), observe the scenic beauty, and share some of the amazing history of the area. Once on the other side of the bay we land the kayaks and prepare to snorkel the Ka'awaloa coastline. Famous for its scenic cliff which plunges to 250' with coral growing at over 100' deep, the water is alive with a diverse array of reef fish and marine life. Once out fo the water we relax and talk story over a great snack provided by our partners at The Coffee Shack and then take an easy paddle back across the bay.
