This is the best way to get to know the neighborhood of Chapinero, we will travel back in time from the beginning of the indigenous ancestors through the period of colonization to the present.

    We will start our tour in the Park of the Hippies, one of the most emblematic places of Chapinero. This space, which in the sixties was a meeting point for youth movements, artists and thinkers, retains a free and bohemian spirit to this day. Surrounded by cafes, bookstores and alternative shops, the park reflects the diverse and creative identity of the neighborhood, making it the perfect point to begin discovering the history, art and urban life of this area of Bogotá.

    This stop addresses the formation of the LGBTIQ+ district in Chapinero, explaining how urban, social and cultural factors gave rise to safe spaces since the 1970s and how these evolved to consolidate a diverse nightlife, economic and community. It contextualizes the phenomenon within global routes of iconic LGBT neighborhoods and highlights the role of activism and public policies in Bogotá in expanding rights.
