Starting from Athens an amazing drive though the Greek mainland will lead us to this, one of a kind rock formation called Meteora,which translates to "hanging from the air". To make it even more intresting Byzantine monks have built monasteries right on the top of those rocks some dating back to the 12th century and are now part of UNESCO's World Heritage program

A complex of monasteries (six of them operating still today) built on top of this amazing rock formation and looks like they are hanging from the sky (that's what Meteora translates to).We will have the chance to visit 2-3 of them depending on timing and explore their little secrets.After having lunch somewhere nearby we set off to Athens.
