Medieval towns and castles, the breath-taking wild Carpathian Mountains and fortified church castles combined with great local food, wine and brandy make an outstanding “Tour of Transylvania”. The tour is a medium paced tour with a mix of overnight of two-night stays in Sibiu, Sighisoara, and Brasov.

*Please note that The Peles Castle is always closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. In the period of the Romanian winter holidays (24.12.2021-02.01.2022) several attractions may have a modified schedule, or they may be closed.     Welcome to Romania! As soon as you set foot on the wonderful Romanian land, in Otopeni International Airport, meet your local guide and transfer to your centrally located hotel. On the way to the hotel, have a preview of what you are about to discover here with a panoramic tour of the city that takes you by the House of the Free Press, The Romanian Arch of Triumph, through The Victory Square, The Roman Square, The Palace of the Parliament, and finally to The University Square.     A wonderful start of the day with a walking tour in the Old Town of Sibiu, one of the most idyllic towns in Eastern Europe. Enjoy time at leisure in the fairy tale city.

    Continue to the charming medieval village Biertan and visit the Fortified church from the 15th century. Biertan is one of the largest fortified churches in Transylvania and is listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Site.

    Sighisoara – Transylvanian winery – Sighisoara (cca. 80 km)

    Start the day with a tour of one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe. Sighisoara was settled by the Germans in the 13th century and it is one of the few still inhabited medieval fortresses in the whole world, being also listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Site. During the walking tour you will visit the Clock Tower, admire the birth house of Dracula and the Church on the Hill. Time at leisure.

    Travel towards the Transylvanian idyllic countryside, discover the fortified churches, and beautifully preserved traditional way of living. Explore the country life of Transylvania by getting to know Viscri, the most popular Saxon Village from the area. Take a tour of the village and experience a ride by traditional horse drawn carriages. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage attraction, the Deutschweisskirch Fortified Church. Meet the locals and enjoy a traditional lunch in this picturesque village with delicious dishes and homemade wine.

Built by the Teutonic knights in the early 13th century, the fortified church was listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Site.
