The tour of the Sassi of Matera investigates various architectural particulars of the city of Matera in a route that, starting at the Città del Piano, crosses the Sasso Barisano, crosses the Colle della Civita revealing the splendid Romanesque cathedral, leads to the Sasso Caveoso, place where it is possible to visit several cave complexes, as well as anthropological witnesses such as cave houses, cellars and cisterns.

The last part of the path will take us to see some of the contemporary architecture of the historic city of Matera. Among the houses of the Materano landowners of the '900, we will find the Palace of the Post Office, of the Insurance and the Bank of Naples, three examples of Razionalist architecture from the fascist era. The guided tour will end in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, the same one where the tour started.
