This is an adventurous, off-the-beaten-path, new trek along the Jordan Trail connecting the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Petra and Wadi Rum. The route is very remote, rugged, and visually stunning.
Through the southern desert mountain range, Wadi Araba, and the high elevation desert area of Wadi Rum you will pass sandstone mountains, dry valleys, and flat sandy expanses that will take your breath away.
This tour ends the morning after the hike at the Wadi Rum Campsite.
Starting in Petra, you'll turn off the main trail leaving the tourist crowd behind while still being in the larger historical Nabatean settlement of Petra. You'll head south, past the Sabra Amphitheatre, and mostly downhill until you reach your remote campsite tonight. This route continues south through stunning wild desert mountains and desert valleys. We'll pass a cluster of mountains as we head down to reach our camp near the Jordan Valley.
Colorful canyons, rock formations, beautiful vistas, and fun sand dunes accompany today's hiking route. Your journey today has a mixture of up and downhills and ends at a beautiful location for a campsite.
The last day of the trek! You will face a long-gradual ascent as you hike up the mountain and out of the Jordan Valley. Later in the day, you'll reach the desert plateau in the Wadi Rum area.
Upon reaching the Bedouin village of Abassiya, we'll take a jeep transfer to Wadi Rum!
Wake up, well-rested, in the stunning and serene Wadi Rum desert. Red sand dunes, sandstone mountains, and rock formations can be expected in this protected area. The tour ends here. Some people like to carry on to Aqaba and the Red Sea, some travelers want to go directly to the Dead Sea, while others prefer to head straight back to Amman. We are happy to arrange a private extension for you or to help you with what to do next.
