    Transfer to Queen Elizabeth N.P. – Sundown Game-drive.

    Queen Elizabeth National Park

    Early in the morning, you will meet and have some briefing and individual introduction from Rumara Safaris’ guide, before getting on board and starting your journey driving to the west of the country. You'll make a stop at Uganda’s Equator for an opportunity to experience and take some amazing photo shots when both in the northern and southern hemispheres. You will also be fortunate to attend shows that demonstrate the variation in the direction of flow of water at the Equator, a few degrees north and a few degrees south! Continue and break for lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre. Here, you will also have the occasion to visit a museum that comprises of traditional items of the indigenous communities. Proceed through Ankole farmlands to finally access Queen Elizabeth National Park via Katungulu gate. The descent reveals the panoramic beauty of the park dotted with trees, crater lakes and lakes George & Edward. Take and introductory game-drive and finally end your day at your lodge.

    The Kazinga Channel experience.

    Kazinga Channel

    Wake up to the sounds of nature, get on board and embark on a sunrise game drive. The vast savannah plains, swamps and forests of Queen Elizabeth are home to about 95 mammals and over 600 bird species. Look out for lions, leopards, elephants, warthogs, bushbucks, Cape buffaloes and waterbucks among others. We shall employ a network of trails to access animal habitats and create more avenues for you to see and experience as much as nature shall make available. After lunch, you will transfer to the pier/dock to arrive on time for your afternoon boat-ride on boat Kazinga Channel. A thread of water that joins lakes George and Edward, Kazinga Channel is a lifeline/habitat to Nile crocodiles, arguably the largest herds of hippos on planet Earth, different species of egrets, Goliath herons, saddle-billed storks, African fish eagles, Egyptian geese and cormorants among other bird species. The channel is a water source for elephants, buffaloes and many other bird species.

    Three: Chimpanzee Tracking – Travel Back to Kampala

    Kyambura Game Reserve (Kyambura Gorge)

    Watch the sunrise as rays beam over Queen Elizabeth NP plains, have an early breakfast and checkout. Join your driver/guide and transfer to Kyambura Gorge to embark on a chimpanzee tracking activity. Kyambura connotes “ I searched and failed to find" indigenous people failed to find the source of water that flows in the gorge. The closet “cousins of man” (chimpanzees) live and wander in the thick forest on the banks of the gorge. Chimpanzee tracking here involves descending and ascending on the banks of the gorge. Apart from chimpanzees, Kyambura Gorge is a hotspot for greater and lesser flamingos as well as the great egret. Return to the staging area where you will join your driver and exit through Kabatooro gate. Continue and break for lunch at Fort Portal town (the only town with an English name). Take a leisurely but scenic ride over hills, down valleys, through tea plantations and trading centers back to Kampala. Drop-off at Entebbe airport for your flight End of your safari.
