This wildlife, gorilla, and chimpanzee tracking safari will take you to Kibale National Park, one of the most beautiful tropical forests in the whole of East Africa. Here you will be able to get up close with man's closest cousins—the chimps. And Bwindi Impenetrable Forest NP for another thrilling activity—trekking the mountain gorillas. It will also take you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will experience the African bush and all its treasures. And lastly, to Jinja.
Upon arrival at the airport, you will meet your safari guide/driver waiting to receive you with a placard reading your names
Upon arrival, your driver guide will be waiting for you at Entebbe Airport to pick you up from your flight and take you directly to your lodge in Kampala. Depending on your arrival time, you may be able to explore the sites in and around Entebbe. You will stay in a nice lodge with beautiful views of Lake Victoria. The hotel has cozy safari style furnished rooms, equipped with satellite TV, fridge bar, telephone, fan, balcony and a comfortable bathroom.
Rumara safaris guide will pick you up early in the morning from your accommodation in Kampala and together you will drive to Kibale Forest National Park that has been nick named the primate capital of the world with the stars being the chimpanzees. You will have lunch in Fort portal and then proceed to Kibale for relaxation as you prepare for your adventure the next morning.
After your early morning breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up and drive you up to the park head office for a morning briefing session from Uganda Wildlife Authority officials. From here you will set off for a morning chimp trekking inside the vast jungles of Kibale, a home for large wildlife most especially 13 species of primate coupled with Chimps. With the tracker, you come across chimps, swinging from tree to tree, others nesting in the trees and making pat hoots (Their way of communication). These chimps are habituated and a bit comfortable with human presence but will go about their lives. You will spend one hour with them and then return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare to set off to Queen Elizabeth NP later in the afternoon. After your delicious lunch, your driver guide will pick you up and together you will start your journey to Queen Elizabeth whereby you will arrive in the late afternoon. You will check in at the lodge, relax in the evening, and have dinner.
After your delicious early morning breakfast, you will set out for a game drive searching for the extremely beautiful and striking animals here at Queen Elizabeth National Park. Be sure to spot animals like Hippos, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, hyenas, lions and many more. Retire to your lodge for lunch and relaxation as you prepare for a boat cruise in the evening. Our driver will pick you up at 2: 00 PM for a very enjoyable and rewarding activity, the boat cruise. This will reward you with views of wild game like hippos, Nile crocodile, buffaloes, and some birds like the Heron green shank, wood sand piper, water thick knee, African alone spoon bill, the African fish eagle and many others. Drive back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
After your early breakfast, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to the last surviving Mountain Gorillas. You will pass through a beautiful scenery of bamboo, rolling hills, forests often referred as the Switzerland of Africa. You will stop at a local restaurant for lunch and then proceed to Bwindi arriving in time for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will gather at the respective park headquarters for a briefing at 08:00 and eventually start your gorilla trekking encounter. You will follow the trails of your respective gorilla family traversing the forest with in hilly forested landscapes and deep saddles. Once you come face to face with these awesome gorillas, the rangers will also guide you on how to handle them most especially by giving them a six-meter distance as you play around with them. Kindly note that it’s also not so easy to predict the time to be taken while trekking and this will mainly depend on the location of some families since some stay really far from the headquarters. Seeing the critically endangered apes as they forage, socialize, the young gorillas rolling themselves on tree branches, and the silverback demonstrating his authority is a moment of wonder that derives remarkable excitement. After the trek, your driver/ guide will transfer you to L. Bunyonyi for a relaxation evening.
After having an early breakfast, you will check-out and start your journey back to Kampala passing through rolling hills with terraces and also you will have a great time viewing the lush vegetation of the different areas you will go through. You will have lunch in Mbarara and another stop will be at the Equator where you will have an opportunity to take fascinating photos. Also feel free to buy some crafts and souvenirs. You will then proceed arriving in Kampala/Entebbe in the late afternoon. Your driver will drop you off at your accommodation or at the airport depending on your flight time. And that will mark the end of your wonderful Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking, rafting and wild life safari in Uganda-the pearl of Africa.
