    Arrival & botanical gardens

    Arrival at Entebbe Airport. Pick up and transfer to your accommodation. If time allows, it is possible to visit the beautiful Entebbe botanical gardens. Birds, flowers, Monkeys, butterflies, trees, Lake Victoria and more birds are the highlights of these beautiful gardens. The perfect sneak peek of the pearl of Africa.

    Kibale Forest

    Kibale National Park

    After breakfast we drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Kibale Forest is a spectacular jungle, with 13 primate species! You can spot chimps, baboons, black and white colobus, red colobus, grey cheeked mangabeys and L’Hoest monkeys. We arrive at Rweetera Safari camp, where we will rest after the long drive. Choose to relax or take a short walk to spot monkeys and different bird species in the vicinity.

    Chimpanzee tracking

    Kibale National Park

    We start the day with chimpanzee tracking in the morning. We will be accompanied by a trained UWA ranger and will follow the sounds of the troop in order to find the chimpanzees. We may walk for an up to an hour and spend an hour with the chimpanzees. Along the way, we will learn about the flowers, trees, butterflies and birds native to the forest.

    Queen Elizabeth National Park

    Later we drive to Queen Elizabeth national park where we will pick up our ranger a for a night game drive. We will track nocturnal predators including lions and leopards as well as elephants, buffaloes and hippos.

    Boat safari on the Kazinga channel

    Queen Elizabeth National Park

    We will take an early morning game drive. At this time, animals are active before the heat of the day. We will see herds of elephants, giraffes, different species of antelopes, prides of lions and a variety of bird life. Our guide will help us understand more about the park's vibrant ecosystem.

    Kazinga Channel

    In the afternoon we go for a boat trip on the Kazinga channel. The Kazinga Channel is one of the highlights of Uganda and has the highest concentration of hippos in the world. We will see hippos, crocodiles, fish eagles, flamingos and a variety of bird life.

    Visit Katwe salt village and the historic Kilembe copper mine

    Kasese

    In the morning we drive to Katwe lake, the source of Uganda's salt for over six hundred years. We will visit the artisinal salt mines on the shore of the lake and learn about the traditional methods used to gather and process the salt.

    Kasese

    Kasese town is a quiet town with a interesting history. We will visit the now defunct Kilembe copper mine, once East Africa's biggest mine during colonial times. We will take a guided tour and learn about the history of the mine.

    Tree climbing Lions of Ishasha

    Queen Elizabeth National Park

    We start the day off with an early morning game drive. We will visit another area of the park in search of different animals than the ones we spotted on day 4.

    After breakfast we transfer to Ishasha, the southern sector of queen Elizabeth national park. In Ishasha there are 4 prides of lions that climb trees; this behaviour is not seen anywhere else in the world! The other attraction of Ishasha are the topis, a species of antelope not found anywhere else in the national park. Game drive in the afternoon in search of tree climbing lions

    Batwa community visit

    Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    In the morning we will drive to Bwindi National Park where we will meet the indigenous Batwa people. The Batwa are one of the oldest ethnic groups in Uganda, who live traditionally in the rain forests. Today, their culture is in danger of going extinct as they face increasing pressure from other. The tour will give you an insight into their way of living, their history and culture.

    Gorilla Tracking

    Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    We will depart early morning departure accompanied by a UWA guide to search for one of the world’s most endangered animals, the mountain gorilla! We will descend deep into the forest to find one of the gorilla families. We will spend around an hour in close proximity to the gorillas, observing these magnificent, peaceful animals.

    A night game drive with leopards

    Lake Mburo National Park

    In the morning we depart to Lake Mburo national park, arriving at the famous Rwakobo Rock for an overnight stay. Enjoy the panoramic views and animals grazing just beneath the lodge. Lake Mburo is one of the 2 national parks with zebras and the only national park with impalas in Uganda. There are no elephants and lions, so walking safaris are possible. In the evening we will go for a night game drive with high chances of seeing leopards.

    Ankole cultural Museum visit

    Lake Mburo National Park

    In the morning, we will go for a walking safari in the park. This is the only national park where you can visit the animals on foot. We will find giraffes, buffaloes, impala and other animals around a watering hole and learn about the different medicinal plants and flowers growing in the park.

    Later we will drive back to Entebbe airport for your departure flight. On the way, we pass by Igongo Cultural center to visit Ankole Museum. We can also stop by the equator to take some photos and buy souvenirs. For travellers with a late night/early morning flight, we can arrange a room in an Entebbe hotel for a rest before the flight.
