Vienna is known for a lot of things, but none of them seems to be food. As an Austrian country hick who moved to the city from a tiny village and has lived my whole adult life in Vienna, I think that this is totally wrong. Viennese people are what they eat. This tour will show you how the Viennese people see their city, by showing you which foods and especially drinks are liked the most by the people here. You'll hear the stories that shaped the Viennese people including:
- What the Romans built while in Vienna
- Which tiny snacks that survived two world wars
- Old buildings that look new and new buildings that look old
- Vienna very own wine
- Which food good enough for the emperor
- And why ice cream parlours closing in winter
So tuck into this food-filled off the beaten track walk through the first district and eat like a local.
