    Temple of Medinat Habu

    The Temple of Ramesses III at Medinet Habu was an important New Kingdom period temple structure in the West Bank of Luxor in Egypt. Aside from its size and architectural and artistic importance, the mortuary temple is probably best known as the source of inscribed reliefs depicting the advent and defeat of the Sea Peoples during the reign of Ramesses III.

    Valley of the Artisans (Deir el-Medina)

    For almost five centuries the village of Deir el-Medina was home to the community of craftsmen working on the royal tombs, principally during the Ramesside period. In a general introductory Osirisnet feature on the tombs of residents of Deir el-Medina, concepts are put forward that are necessary for the understanding and appreciation of these tombs in general. These concepts are not repeated in the descriptions of each particular tomb:
