1Pingvellir National Park
Thingvellir national park is a UNESCO World Heritage attraction where nature meets history. This is the setting of Althing, the worlds oldest parliament founded in 930AD by the viking settlers in Iceland. You can enjoy an easy hike down Almannagja gorge where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are pulling apart.

This is an optional lunch stop. Efstidalur farm restaurant and café offers a full menu made from the produce of the farm. The Blue Lagoon geothermal spa is one of the most popular attractions in Iceland. The steamy lagoon flows in a lava formation. The warm waters are rich of silica minerals and bathing in the Blue Lagoon is reputed to help people suffering from skin diseases. The water temperature in the bathing area of the lagoon averages 37-39 °C. The lagoon is fed by the water output from Svartsengi, a nearby geothermal power plant.
